The purpose of this practice exams is to give you a chance to familiarise yourself with the
AssessmentUCL platform ahead of the exam period and to practise all the steps that will be
required of you on your exam day. It is essential that you engage in this practice environment
to ensure you are fully prepared for your exams. It is advisable to use the device in the practice
exam that you intend to use on the day of your exams to avoid any complications on the day.

The practice exam will allow you to remove submissions and resubmit multiple times to enable
you to practice more than once. For your live exam you will only be able to SUBMIT your final
document once only and will not be able to remove your submission.

Please note that your submission will be monitored by the Examinations Office but will not be
shared with or submitted to your department.

Practice exam: guidance and model answers

Before completing the practice exam, please download and read the ‘How to submit an online
exam on AssessmentUCL’ in the Additional material section. This can be found to the right of
the assignment.

You will also be able to see answers to the practice exam and the format these can be
provided, available in the General material section.

Please Answer ALL questions from Part A, ONE question from Part B, and ALL questions
from Part C.

Questions in Part A carry ten percent of the total mark each, questions in Part B and Part
C each carry thirty percent of the total mark.

In cases where a student answers more questions than requested by the examination
rubric, the policy of the Grammar, Punctuation and Maths Department is that the
