Chapter
Introduction
Course of action is important or necessary step that
is to be taken regarding the problem. Or it can be
follow up related to the problem.
In simple words it is just the problem and their solu-
tion. You may call it is problem and solution. But there
is different between courses of action and solution.
Solution is something which is permanent and com-
plete. But, courses of action is action that is to be
taken according to the situation. Even if we get some
different still it is included in course of action. The
course of action should be proper, according to the
situation and must remain ‘ Possible’ to implement.
Example.
Statement :-
City is facing water shortage as the water level in the
lakes providing water to the city is decreasing con-
siderably.
Which of the following action is to be taken by gov-
ernment.
1) Government should cut the supply of the water
to the city.
2) Government should impose partial cut in the sup-
ply of water to the city.
3) All the citizen should be provided water by
tankers.
4) Government should make people aware through
mass media for minimum use of water.
Answer :- Only II and IV
Explanation :
Option 1) : We cannot cut the supply of water com-
pletely. It is impossible
Option 2) : It is good courses of action This will
Satisfy the needs and will save the wa-
ter too.
Option 3) : It is not Possible.
Option 4) : Due to mass media awareness
programme, there is possibility that
some people react the appeal positively
and some may not. So, if people are re-
acting positively, then it is good courses
of action.
