8(8)
A)T or F( OR Complete ):
1-Density is how much mass in a certain volume.(T )
2-Objects which have the same volume, but different masses,
they have different densities ( T )
3-Measuring cylinder is used to the volume of a liquid. (T)
4-Volume of regularly-shaped = width x length x height. (T)

Physics Grade 8 1 Science department

5-The curve in the upper surface of a liquid close to the surface
of the container is called meniscus.(T)
6-Density = mass/volume g/cm³ .(T)
A) Calculate the densities of the following materials :
1-Material A has a volume of 2 cm³ and a mass of 30 g.
30/2 = 15 g/cm3

2- Material B has a volume of 10cm³ and a mass of 8 g.

_______________________________________________
8/10 = 4/5 g / cm3

3- Material c has a volume of 20cm³ and a mass of 100 g.

100/20 = 5 g/cm3

8(9)
A)T or F( OR Complete ):
1- Solids are usually denser than liquids. (T)
2-Gases are the least dense. ( T )
3- Density depends on the arrangement of particles and the
mass of the particles. (T)
4-An object floats on a liquid if it has density less than that of
the liquid.(T)

Physics Grade 8 2 Science department

B.Answer the following :
1-Why wood is float? Because its density is less than density of
water.
2-Why iron sinks? Because its density is greater than density of
water.
8(11)
A)T or F( OR Complete ):
1-A lever is a bar that can turn when you exert a force on one
end .(T)
2-An object that you lift is called the load . (T)
3-The force that you exert on the bar is called the effort.(T)
4-The point at which a bar rotates is called a pivot or
fulcrum.(T)
5-The lever is a force multiplier because it makes the effect of
the force that you exert much bigger. (T)
6-Levers are not always straight bars. (T)
7-Using a hammer to remove a nail is an example of a force
multiplier.(T)
8-When the distance from effort to the pivot is bigger than the
distance from load to the pivot, so you need to use less effort,
examples hammer and wheelbarrow. (T)

Physics Grade 8 3 Science department

9- The tongs are a distance multiplier. (T)
Study all questions in the student book and workbook
8(12)
A)T or F( OR Complete ):
1-The principle of Moments states that when a body is
balanced, the total clockwise moment about a point equals the
total clockwise moment about the same point. (T)
2-Anticlockwise moment = clockwise moment. (T)
3-Moment = Force x distance from the pivot. (T)

big
small
eqilibrium moments

This cancels out the turning force which help her balance

Clockwise

9-1
A) Put T or F( OR Complete) :
1-A phenomenon is something that you can observe or sense. (T)
2-A positive charge will repel another positive charge. (T)
3- A negative charge will repel another negative charge. (T)
4- A positive charges attract negative charges. (T)
5-Like charges repel, unlike charges attract. (T)
6-When you rub the polythene rod, it becomes negatively charged. (T)
7-All materials are made of tiny particles called atoms. (T)
8-Every atom contains three types of particles: protons, neutrons and
electrons. (T)
9-Protons are positively charged. (T)
10-Neutrons have no charge. (T)
11- Electrons are negatively charged. (T)

12-Static means stationary or standing still. (T)

13- polythene and Perspex are insulators. (T)
14-If you rub a metal rod with a cloth, it will become charged. (T)
15-Electrons do not move round insulators. (T)
16- Electrons can move round conductors. (T)

Physics Grade 8 5 Science department

Study the following questions:
1-When you close Perspex rod near polythene rod, they attracted
Why?
Because the charge on the Perspex rod is positive but the charge on the
polythene is negative (they have different charges)
2-When you close polythene rod near to polythene rod, they repelled
Why?
Because they both have the same negative charges.

3-The atom is neutral (has no charge or neutral) why?

Because in an atom ,the number of electrons is equal to the number of
protons.

9-2
A) Put T or F( OR Complete) :
1- The moving charge is an electric current. (T)
2-Air does not allow a current to flow through it. (T)
3-Lightning can be very dangerous, kill people and cause burn. (T)
4-Risk is a combination of the probability of something happening and
the consequence if it did. (T)
*-Why building have lightning conductor?
Because when lightning strikes the building electrons flow down the
strip to the ground ,so they saves the building .
