SCHUSTER

Who am I?

Hello! My name is Hannah Schuster, and I am a third grade

reading and writing teacher at Sonoraville Elementary
School in Calhoun, Georgia. I have been teaching for six
years. I have a passion for serving others and helping
students and teachers leverage the technology available to
them to increase productivity and engagement.

Professional
Responsibilites

I am a third grade reading, writing, and language arts teacher,

but I also serve on my school's Guiding Coalition (leadership
team), where we analyze student data and develop the school
improvement plan. The artifacts included in my portfolio are
from my homeroom students. These 24 students range in
academic ability, and are from a variety of backgrounds.

03.
ISTE-E Standards
I used the ISTE-E standards to support my role as an educator by
moving our "technology rich" environment to a classroom and
school that leverages the technology we have to engage, support,
and encourage student learning. The ISTE-E standards allowed me
to take on leadership roles through coaching and leading
professional development for my colleagues, while also modeling
how to be a life-long learner as I designed and analyzed online
learning modules and digital tools to meet specific learning goals.

04.
Changes Made

By using the ISTE-E standards, my practice changed by

considering the LoTi framework when planning and designing
instruction with technology integration. Instead of focusing on
the amount of technology I am using in my classroom, I am now
focused on evaluating and finding purposeful tools that best
serve my students. I strive to choose digital tools that provide
opportunities for my students to collaborate, discover, and
share.

What I'm Proud Of

When looking back at my portfolio, I am particularly proud of the way I

stepped outside of my comfort zone by coaching a colleague on
technology integration. Before, I would try new digital tools inside my
own classroom, but I never offered assistance to other teachers within
my building. I never wanted to overstep or seem that I was critiquing
anyone's teaching practices. This portfolio shows that I can serve others
by forming positive relationships with my colleagues and coaching them
towards using technology to meet their goals.

Moving Forward

My goal moving forward for using digital tools in my

educational practice is to continue to evaluate new tools
before using them in my classroom. I will use the digital
evaluation tool that I created to ensure the tool is purposeful
and can meet the needs of my students and their learning
goals. Next school year, I am taking on a new professional
role and will be serving as Sonoraville High School's Media
Specialist. I am hoping to use a variety of digital tools to
curate resources for teachers and students and help create
responsible digital citizens.
