ABSTRACT
• In these we are going to evaluate and determine horizontal components of
• Earths magnetic field at our location with help of stewart-gee’s experiment
• By initiating values we are going to do this at our culinary location which
ever we choose as example:delhi and other perspective location
• In this we going to calculate at Andhra locatity areaand evaluate and
analysing the values that have been taken into count to measure
approximate values.
PROBLEM
• Evaluate the horizontal component of eaths magnetic field at our location
• With the help of stewart gees apparatus
EXPLANATION
• the general procedure for measuring the horizontal component of Earth's magnetic
field using the Stewart- Gees apparatus. The Stewart- Gees apparatus is a simple device
used for measuring the strength and direction of a magnetic field. It consists of a
magnetic needle suspended from a pivot and a graduated circle around the needle.
The needle aligns itself with the magnetic field, and the angle it makes with the
horizontal can be measured using the graduated circle. To measure the horizontal
component of Earth's magnetic field at Vadlamudi, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India using
the Stewart- Gees apparatus, you would need to follow these steps:Set up the Stewart-
Gees apparatus at the location you want to measure the magnetic field.Align the
apparatus so that the needle is parallel to the ground.Take note of the angle that the
needle makes with the horizontal using the graduated circle.Use a magnetic
declination chart or online tool to calculate the magnetic declination for the
location.Subtract the magnetic declination from the angle measured in step 3 to obtain
the horizontal component of Earth's magnetic field. It is important to note that the
strength and direction of Earth's magnetic field can vary depending on location and
time. Therefore, it is essential to use up-to-date data and appropriate correction factors
when making measurements
