Problem Statement
In the 21st century with the worlds colliding and pandemics happening, it is difficult for people
to operate perfectly both physically and mentally. Social media is mostly blamed for all these
problems; thus, to understand completely why this happens and how much people rely upon
social media and blame it for the ruination of a generation these data and analysis were
completed.
3
Student Information
Students from Independent University, Bangladesh was given a survey form to provide their
information. These tables are a summary of their information and number of hours they tend to
spend on the social media. The formulas like COUNTIF with conditions was used to find out the
number of females and male students completed the survey. A pivot table and pie chart
regarding the survey was also provided.
4
Social Media Statistics
The next table is created to understand the usage of different types of social medias by the
students and the number of hours they think are wasted which could instead be used to study.
A pivot table is made to summarize the total hours and specific hours spent by a student.
Formulas such as COUNTIFs, SUM, MAX, MIN are used in this table to find out answers such as
total time students spend of Facebook, minimum time spent wasting on social media instead of
studying, etc.
5
Mental Health and social media
In this part of the report, the table included the data about the student’s opinion about social
media’s affect on mental health and how positive and negative it is, their spendings influenced
by social media and how them as parents think if social media has a positive or negative effect
on children. For this a pivot table, a pie chart, and formulas such as Average, Vlookup and
COUNTIF with conditions.
6
Conclusion
In conclusion, we can say that students and children are highly addicted and involved in social
media which is having an affect on their lifestyle and studying. Not only this but, due to
increased number of people showing off their lives on social media the spending of money
influenced through that has also increased significantly.
