Learner Instructions
For this task, you will be participating in the following demonstrations:

A. Workshop Orientation
For this demonstration, you will be walking through your workshop and demonstrating your skills and
knowledge of the following:

● safe work procedures and communication


● hazard identification
● safety sign identification
● correct usage of PPE
B. Manual Handling Exercise

Your teacher will prepare a suitable scenario where you will be required to demonstrate safe manual
handling techniques.

C. Emergency Procedures and Evacuation


To prepare you for a real-life emergency evacuation your teacher is going to simulate an emergency such
as an evacuation drill due to a fire using an alarm or signal.
As a group you will need to perform the incident response and evacuation procedure.

You will be observed by your trainer completing the activities outlined in the Observation Checklist.

Ensure that you review the Observation Checklist prior to being assessed, so you are aware of what you
need to do to attain a satisfactory result.
