Purpose - Why does this role exist?

There are no resources/team currently at Dolvi location to deliver and support the MES implementation on PSI
Technologies. Also this team shall be very crucial in the support and development of the MES systems (for
scaling and New project implementation) at Dolvi works

MES Systems delivery, support and change management as per agreed SLAs

Critical Tasks

 Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems

and delivering high-availability and performance
 Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
 Functional Consultant for implementation of Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
 Highly resourceful in liaising with client to gauge their business requirements, study existing
processes at their end, determining gaps with desired state of business and accordingly
devise solutions to help them attain the desired business state.
 Converting User Requirement Specifications to a Functional Specification, Business
Requirement Document, Detail Design Specification, writing Configuration Test Plans and
summary reports.
 Mapping requirements and providing them best solutions involving evaluation and definition of
scope of project and finalization of project requirements.
 Good understanding of entire software life cycle and proven excellence in roles spanning both
technical and business aspects of IT.
 Responsible for “AS IS” and “TO BE” business analysis.
 Carrying out UAT, UT, SIT plans and execution to ensure proper data flow across SAP, MES
& various Legacy systems.
 Functional testing and results evaluation to ensure the accuracy and quality of deliverables.
 Handle interface data mapping with different legacy system like YMS/ L2/ SAP/ LIMS/PI
Historian to integrate MES with all Shop floor systems.
 Fixing and analyzing bugs, ensuring same should not repeat.
 Ensuring System should in-line with ISA 95 standards.
 Prepare and produce releases of software components as per ITGC standards
 Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and

presenting these for architectural review

 Interacting with MES, SAP and various other work centers for transfer of process critical data
through EAI/TIBCO middleware
 Ensuring project activities are in line with Project Plan. Timely prompting management if any
deviation held.
 Maintaining Requirement Traceability Matrix to keep track on each functionality and Impact
analysis.

Educational Background and Work Experience

B.E/B.Tech, MTech

Competencies
 Hands-on Software Development experience
 Development of high quality database solutions
 Requirement Gathering, ensuring understanding of business needs are in sync with the
business needs and map it to the system
 As-Is/ To-Be Analysis:- Based on business needs , Analyzing system’s As-Is and To-Be
behavior
 Build appropriate and useful reporting deliverables
 Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements and suggest new queries
 Investigate exceptions with regard to asset movements
 End to End knowledge of MES implementations on established platforms like PSI Metals in
steel vertical
 Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using C#/ASP.NET platforms
with RDBMS data sources
 Object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
 Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies
 Experience in the ASP.NET and C# Frameworks
 Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF,
Wicket, GWT, MVC)
 Experience with test-driven development
 Exposure to Steel making and manufacturing processes with in depth operational know how
 Should be exposed to working in SAP based processes and knowledge of supply chain,
SNOP, DP and detailed scheduling

Should have at least five years+ of experience in MES implementations with .NET experience involved
