Short Program:

Title: “BCC United Nations’ Quiz Bee”
Duration: October 25, 2022 TUESDAY 4pm – 5 pm
Venue: Preferably Educ Room/Laboratory Room

Description:
Quiz Bee is one of the most exciting activities in most academic celebrations in
schools. The LYSSYE Club’s “BCC United Nations’ Quiz Bee” is designed to showcase the
intelligence of the student’s who loves Social Studies, spark other student’s interest in the
subject, and increase student’s awareness about the society they are living.
Objectives:
This project adhered to the following objectives:
1. To help the students appreciate the significance of knowing where we came from and
how we were molded into the society we are today.
2. To let the students become aware of the current issues that our society is facing
today.
3. To showcase the intelligence of the students who has passion in Social Studies.

Mechanics:
1. Each team will be composed of two students (preferably from different course in
all year levels)
2. The Quiz Bee is divided into three categories:
a. Easy Round
b. Average Round
c. Difficult Round
3. Each round will have ten questions.
4. For Easy Round, every question is worth 1 points, for Average Round, 2 points and
for Difficult Round, 3 points.
5. Incase of tie, Clincher Round will be implemented, with 5 questions equivalent of 1
points each, the team with the highest score in the clincher will be automatically
part of the winning team.
6. The team who will get the highest point after all the rounds will be hailed as the
BAGO CITY COLLEGE United Nations’ Quiz Bee Champion
7. Questions will include: United Nations’ History, Structure, Membership, Objectives,
Funding, and other related information about the Intergovernmental Body
8. In case of protest, the overall judge (Adviser of the Club) will verify the answers, his
decision will be final and irrevocable.

B. Impromptu Speaking
Title: U-Speak: Impromptu Challenge!
Duration: October 28, 2022 Friday 3 pm – 5 pm
Venue: Preferably Educ Room/Laboratory Room

Description:
The “U-Speak: Impromptu Challenge!” is a perfect avenue for presenting and discussing facts
in relation to pressing social issues of today. Students will be trained to think outside the
box and give their analysis during their assessment of social issues and have a good
discernment of where, what and how they should stand as a BCCian student.

Objectives:
This project adhered to the following objectives:
1. To develop skills in logical reasoning as well as public speaking in relation to social
studies.
2. To engage the students in intellectual understanding of relevant and current
international issues.
3. To enhance one’s self esteem and sportsmanship in extemporaneous speaking.

Mechanics:
I. Creation of Teams
1. The Competition is open to all College students regardless of Course and Year.
2. There will be 10 contestants in total (preferably one for each course with
different year level), and will be cater by first come, first serve.
3. Registration will be managed by the LYSSEans officials.

Competition:
1. The order of presentation will be done through drawing lots.
2. Each speaker will be given 5-7 minutes to speak/present his/her ideas to the panel.
3. The panel of judges will be composed of three members: the Club Adviser, the
President/Supreme Rajah and one additional faculty member.
4. Each speaker will be graded based on the following Criteria: Presentation and Delivery
(40%), Poise and Confidence (10%), Organization of Ideas (30%), Communication Skills
(20%).
5. The individual with the highest average score will be proclaimed as the Champion of
the U-Speak: Impromptu Challenge!

D. Poise and Confidence 10%

ACTIVITIES AND PROPOSAL FOR THE LYSSE CLUB

1. Collection: Each member of the club will be required to contribute 5 pesos per
week/20 pesos per month, the money will be for the Club’s fund for future projects
and activities.
2. Creation of LYSSE Public Information Page
- The goal is give students of Bago City College additional knowledge and
informations pertaining to Social Studies. The page will update daily about the
important happenings in that particular date, will highlights current events, and
other beneficial instructions or guide.
3. Review Sessions
- There will be review sessions in the form of weekly assessment, test or online or
face to face review sessions to those members of the club, the goal is to
strengthen our knowledge about basic information about the different areas of
Social Studies as well as for 4th year students as a form of refresher in
preparation for their future Licensure Examination.
4. Environmental Projects
- The club should be active and must propose yearly or every 6 months a
particular project/activities related to environment protection.
5. Bulletin Boards
- The club will ask for one bulletin board for information dissemination, It should
be updated monthly.
6. Club Scholars
- The club will also focus on the welfare of members, the club will choose scholars
who needs financial assistance for their schooling. Either for fare allowance, or
educational allowance per sem.
7. Trainings and Seminars
- Members are expected to participate in any school conducted seminars and
trainings, and the club will be given the opportunity to hose symposium or
trainings.
