I. Introduction.
Welcome to our presentation today on the topic the teacher assigned to the group:
Leisure activities - things you usually do in your free time. We are group 2. There are
6 members in our group: Bui Ngoc Bich, Nguyen Huy Binh, Nguyen Thi Quynh Chi,
Phung Duc Tu Dat, Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung.
Today, thanks to the development of society and the advancement of technology,
people are more and more advanced in all aspects. This forces each of us to always
explore and move to be able to catch up with society. Because of that, there are more
activities to do in our free time that both improve our knowledge and help us relax.

5
II. Body.
1. Play sports.
Playing sports brings a lot of advantages.
First, it helps you reduce stress. When you are physically active, your mind gets a
chance to unplug from daily stresses and strains of life. Physical exercise reduces the
stress hormones in your body and stimulates the release of endorphins, which may
give you more energy and focus for whatever life has.
The second one is that sports enable you to build better relationships with people.
Through frequent sport you can get to know a lot about an individual’s personality,
their strengths and weaknesses. Sport with colleagues is a good opportunity to build
better relationships and networks that may help you in your job.
Last but not least, it strengthens the immune system. When playing sports, the body
is protected from different types of harmful bacteria and viruses. To sum up, people
should play sports regularly because it brings lots of advantages.
2. Read books.
Books are learning tools.
They not only teach you things, they take you to places you could never otherwise go.
They open your imagination and you are free to view the characters in them any way
you can conjure them up. On television or in a play, you pretty much view the
characters as the writer scripted them. Reading opens up a whole new world for
anybody and is the basis for a good education. If one can’t read, one can’t learn.
Reading also fosters imagination, writing skills, vocabulary growth, deeper
understanding of life around you and better communicative skills. It is a quiet activity
that can be a lot of fun, and you learn a lot from it. I’m really into reading because I
believe that reading can be both entertaining and educational. Reading broadens my
knowledge by opening up the whole world to me. While I’m reading, I can be visiting
another country or a different time period, or traveling through space. I can find out
how people solve problems or think up new ideas.
3. Volunteer.
What can we do in our free time? Volunteers are people who bring essential help to
those in need and the community as a whole. In fact, “giving is receiving”,
volunteering not only helps protect our mental and physical health, but it can also
reduce stress, fight depression, keep us in high spirits, and give us a sense of purpose
in life.
So what can we volunteer for? It can be visiting and helping orphanages, planting
trees to protect the environment, volunteering for blood donation, or participating in
volunteer campaigns, ... Choosing the right volunteering job can help you get new
friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career.
In short, participating in volunteer activities is a practical job that can be of great help
to each person's life and work.

4. Hang out with friends.
Strengthen relationships with friends.
The first benefit is that you will have more time with your relatives and friends. It
means that the relationship between you and your friends will be closer together. And
friends are almost an indispensable spice in our lives.
Agree that without friends, you can still live well, have more time for yourself, but
obviously life would be boring without friends, right?
Explore the city where you live.
The second benefit is that you will have the opportunity to explore more fun places
right where you live. When traveling with many people, you will have more fun than
traveling alone. That gives you and them the opportunity to discover new things from
many perspectives. You can also share the great places you know that you can
experience together. In addition, science also proves that talking, chatting, or just
walking with the people you love will help relieve stress and relax you very
effectively.
Opportunity only comes when you go out.
And finally, remember one thing is that the opportunity only comes when we are
willing to step out. There are many business relationships that start with a few glasses
of wine, there are sweet relationships that only stem from random encounters in the
bar, or there are soulmates that match up thanks to the meeting, and go out together.
5. Learn a new language.
Learning a foreign language can bring you good job opportunities, build future
relationships, and especially help improve and develop yourself.
Learning a foreign language can open up new horizons for you in many different
ways. However, we often tend to feel lazy when we start learning a language other
than our native language.
Improve your memory.
The more you use your brain to learn new skills, the more your brain’s functions work.
Learning a new language pushes your brain to get familiar with new grammar and
vocabulary rules. It allows you to train your memory to remember new words, make
connections between them, and use them in contextual situations. When learning a
foreign language, the brain will automatically find the most effective way to adapt
and operate so that we can easily and quickly absorb new sources of knowledge,
whether you want to be very proficient or simply achieve it. certain skills after
training.
Good job opportunity.
You’ll open the doors to a range of job opportunities when you speak more than one
language. There’s an increasing demand for bilingual and multilingual professionals
in all sorts of fields—so from marketing to banking to law and beyond, your ability
to speak a second language gives you a real edge in the job hunt.

7
Convenient for travel.
Nothing is better than if you can confidently communicate with local native speakers
because traveling to new lands helps us improve our skills, gain more experience. It
should be noted that a language can be used in many countries, for example Spanish
is also popular in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Cuba... and many other places.
Diverse lifestyles.
When you are fluent in a foreign language, you can easily make personal comments
and assessments about the artworks of different countries; no longer have to depend
on subtitles, translations... from movies, books, TV shows...
Whether you have to approach Japanese manga, Bollywood movies from India or
Swedish rap music... it doesn't matter. You can fully enjoy and feel them in your own
way.
Enhances your ability to multitask.
Time management and multitasking are two skills that will always help you.
Multilingual people have the ability to switch between languages. Their ability to
think in different languages and be able to communicate in more than one language
helps with multitasking.
6. Go camping.
Going camping is an ideal activity in your free time. You can do it with your friends
or family. It would be great if everyone can enjoy their free time together.
When life in the city is so familiar to you, going camping will bring you more new
and exciting experiences. Leave the overbooked scheduling at home. When you’re
camping, there’s no place to be at a certain time, and nothing is interrupting you or
competing for your attention.
The natural outcome of this type of setting is stress reduction and relaxation you can’t
find anywhere else. One of the best and most important aspects of camping is how it
helps you build and strengthen relationships. When you go camping with friends or
family, you get a chance to talk and visit without distraction, even late into the night.
Time spent camping is physical time. You set up a tent, gather firewood, and go for a
hike. At home, we often lead sedentary lives that do not promote physical fitness.
When you’re camping, you can’t help but engage in physical activity and get your
heart rate up.
You can’t help but develop new skills while camping. Everyone on the trip will
contribute and it’s a great chance to learn new things. You may learn how to set up
tents, tie knots, start fires, cook a new meal, and more. These skills are important to
have, and yet we don’t often get a chance to develop them during our regular busy
schedules.
While the benefits of camping for adults also apply to young people, there are several
benefits specific to younger campers. For kids, time spent camping is time spent
learning, which is one of the reasons scouting programs are so valuable. They

8
facilitate camping experiences that are built around kids learning new things,
including fishing, cooking, hiking, tying knots, fire-starting, safety, first aid, and
much more.
7. Learn new good habits.
Every day is an opportunity for us to learn new things. Free time is also an ideal time
to start new good habits. Humans are creatures of habit. So why is it so hard to form
new good habits?
Get Organized.
Making a plan for what you're going to do and when you're going to do it will make
sure you're always ahead of the curve - literally.
Manage your study space.
Find a place that will maximize your productivity. Look for places away from the
television and other distractions. Whether it's your local library or just the desk in
your bedroom, set aside a study space that you'll want to spend time in.
Drink Plenty of Water.
It can do so many good things for you. Staying hydrated is at the top of the list, but it
may also help you lose weight. Another reason to go for H2O? Sugary drinks are
linked to obesity and type 2 diabetes. If you aren't a fan of plain water, add flavor with
slices of orange, lemon, lime, watermelon, or cucumber.
Take an Exercise Break.
Don't just grab another cup of coffee - get up and move. Do some deep lunges or
stretches. It's great for your body and mind. Just 30 minutes of walking five times a
week may help keep the blues at bay. And if you can't do those minutes all at once,
short bursts help, too.

9
III. Conclusion.
When you are used to busy schedules for a long time, free time is really a great gift
for you. You can enjoy it, use it to improve your quality and standard of life.
Everyone has different ways of using their free time, but you need to remember to
use it effectively so as not to waste that precious time. Free time is not only an
opportunity for you to play and relax, but also a good opportunity for you to learn
new things and explore interesting places. Free time also helps you re-balance your
life so that you can live slower and enjoy the simple things around. I hope the
activities that we offer will help you have more choices for your free time, so that
your time is not really free and wasted.
