1.8-2.7 oz or 86-129 yds of Yarnspirations Sugar and Cream Cotton (Size 4 Yarn)

Gauge and Size

Gauge: 4 HDC X 3 Rows = 1 inch


S’Well 25 oz Water Bottle Holder – 8 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter.
Larger Water Bottle Holder – 7.5 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter.
Special Stitches

Special Half Double Crochet Stitch Pattern:

In this pattern, we will be working a half double crochet increase or 2 half double crochet
stitches into the same stitch. In the next row, we will work another 2 half double crochet,
but we will work them into the space in between the stitches of the previous increase. You
can see this in the photo below. It creates a very pretty stitch pattern.

Notes:
-Written in US terms.
– I do not count my CH1, turning chain, as a stitch.
– The base is written so that you can work this pattern for many different sizes of bottles.
Just work the number of rows you need to make a circle that is just slightly smaller than the
base of the bottle.
Bottle Holder Base

Row 1: Work 10 HDC in a Magic Circle. SLST to first HDC. (10)


Alternate Row 1: CH3, Work 10 HDC into 3rd CH from Hook, SLST to first HDC. (10)

Row 2: CH1, *Work 2 HDC into next ST* repeat from *to* a total of 10 times. SLST to first
HDC. (20)

Row 3: CH1, *HDC in next ST, Work 2 HDC into next ST* repeat from *to* a total of 10
times. SLST to first HDC. (30)
Row 4: CH1, *HDC in next 2 STs, Work 2 HDC into next ST* repeat from *to* a total of 10
times. SLST to first HDC. (40)
Note: For the larger bottle stop after row 4 then continue on to the side rows. I have
included a 5th row in case your water bottle is larger than the two I used.
Row 5: CH1, *HDC in next 3 STs, Work 2 HDC into next ST* repeat from *to* a total of 10
times. SLST to first HDC. (50)
Do not fasten off. Continue on to the side rows.
Water Bottle Holder Side Rows

Side Row 1: CH1, *Work 2HDC into next ST, Skip a ST,* repeat from *to* all the way around
the row. SLST to first HDC. (Stitch count will match the last rows stitch count.)
Side Row 2: CH1, *Work 2 HDC between the 2 HDC of the previous row* repeat from *to*
all the way around the row. SLST to first HDC.

Repeat row 2 until your water bottle holder is a tall as you would like it for your water
bottle. For a 25 oz S’well bottle work Side Row 2 a total of 24 times. For the larger water
bottle, work Side Row 2 a total of 20 times. Feel free to adjust the number of rows to match
your water bottle.

Last Side Row: CH1, HDC in each ST around. SLST to first HDC.

Fasten off and leave a yarn end long enough to help sew the strap onto the crochet water
bottle holder.
Long Water Bottle Carrier Strap

CH 101

Row 1: HDC in the 2nd Ch from hook. HDC in next 99 CH. (100)

Rows 2-4: CH1, turn, HDC in next 100 STs. (100)

Fasten off leaving a long yarn end to sew to the water bottle carrier. Sew one end of the
strap to each side of the water bottle holder using a whip stitch. Weave in your ends.

Short or Belt Water Bottle Carrier Strap

CH 10

Row 1: HDC in the 2nd Ch from hook. HDC in next 8 CH. (9)

Rows 2-3: CH1, turn, HDC in next 9 STs. (9)

Fasten off leaving a long yarn end to sew to the water bottle carrier. Sew one end to the top
of the water bottle carrier with a whip stitch and the other end down the side of the bottle
like it shows in the picture. Weave in your ends.
