ACTIVITY# 1
ESSAY: ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS BRIEFLY.
1. WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF ETHICS TO MAN’S LIFE? CITE AT LEAST ONE (1) SITUATION WHERE IT CAN BE ILLUSTRATED. (5 points) Ethics is truly important to man’s life for human face moral choice every single time. For example, crossing a main road where there is an overpass, are you going to jay walk or go to the overpass? So, ethics is important for it help us understand and rationally think according to what is right. One of the ways how ethics teaches on deciding things is the virtue, where we decide thing according to what fit that moment. For example, someone is being hostage and our response could save the person or we call the police. If we choice to call the police, then we are just acting upon what we can because if save the hostage we might harm the hostage. However, if you know how to defend the hostage then you can save the hostage. It shows how we can suitably help the person through the help of ethics. 2. WHAT IS THE AIM OF ETHICS? (5 points) The aim of ethics is to find beauty, goodness, true worth, perfection, purpose and meaning. For ethics is the study of what is right and wrong which will help us distinguish that it aims to these words. This are the aims of ethics and if you ask me what the aim of ethics for me is then it is pursuing the best version of me. In ethics it studies what is right and wrong, and the more we know what is right the more we reach our best version however, knowing what right is not enough for us to reach our full potential but applying it in our lives will make us the best version of ourselves. 3. FOR YOU, WHAT IS THE MEANING OF MORAL JUDGMENT? EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWER. (5 points) The meaning of moral judgment for me is thinking what is right and wrong on the situation. Moral is related to what is right and wrong, Judgement is how you access the situation. Example of moral judgement is in a classroom where a student punches a student, now as a person who is person in the room you are going to apply moral judgments to the students, asking “why the student punches the student?” or “does the victim deserve the punch?”. 4. WHY SHOULD MAN LIVE A MORAL LIFE? (5 points) Man should live a moral life for a person can only develop through knowing what is moral. If a person aims to find true worth and perfection then living according to what is morally right however, if you don’t want to live a life true worth and perfection but a life of meaning and purpose then still live a moral life but if you just want to do what is evil to satisfy your own nature then you are living for destruction and not for life. 5. WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY IN LIFE? (5 points) “You can live a temporary life, but God is offering us eternal life.”. For I believe that all of us will die and be best version of us in this world but knowing that there is eternity I can now live according to what will last forever.
