Action Plan for Inter House Extempore Speech Competition 2022

Aim:
● To inculcate among students a love for language and enhance their
literary skills.

Objective(s):
→ To encourage students to articulate and extend their language learning ability.
→ Develop self-confidence and effective communication skills and enhance fluency in speaking
under certain given situations and pressure.
→ To enable students to think out of the box and off their feet.
→ To Improve logical thinking and reasoning ability in a learner.

General Guidelines for Conducting Extempore Speech Competition

1. Participants will have to read and research on certain topics.

2. Participants will have to pick a random topic and present a speech for 3
minute. 30 seconds think time will be allotted to each individual.

3. The time taken for your introductory remarks will not be counted to your
3 minutes allotted time.

4. After 2 minutes the timekeeper will ring a warning bell to remind you
about your remaining 1 minute time.

5. The time keeper will ring another bell to remind you that your 3 minutes
have passed and that your speaking time has finished.

6. Remind the participants on how they will be judged (orient them on the
rubrics and scoring guide)

7. Wish the participants and start the programme.
