Consumerism in the Portuguese society

Imagine if you could only buy what was produced in your country. Over time the globalization that
has been increasing since the Portugal’s dictatorship , allows us to buy something produced in other
country.
Is it clear that are much available products nowadays because of the globalization, and some
portuguese people consume more because of that. Consumerism may be a way of escaping problems
that some people face and that might help them, but in long term is harmful for them.
However there are some some problems such as the money spent, many times consumers dont
have conscience of how much money they are spending on unnecessary things and end up with many
debts.
Beyond the money spent, the raw matterial needed to produce something is more and more
limited because there’s people consuming more than they need, and that results in the death of the
environment becaus he doesn’t has time to recover.
In conclusion the consumerism has been increasing and it may be good for some people but not
for all of us and such important as that, the environment that we depend on.
