U4 Party Time! Video Script
Lena: August 21st , today is my dad’s birthday. Lena: My mom is making sure the cake mix is
even in the pans.
My mom and I are planning a special
dinner for him. Then, we put them in the oven to bake
for 25 minutes.
We have the decorations. Now, we just
need to make the cake! After baking, the cake has to cool.
Mom: Lena, are you ready to help? Now, it’s time for the best part – the
frosting!
Lena: Yes, I’m coming Mom.
Mom: Lena, save some for the cake!
Ah yes, I see my mom has all the
ingredients ready to make my dad’s Lena: After the frosting, there is just one
favorite – chocolate cake. more thing to do –
We have flour, cocoa powder, butter, Happy Birthday Dad!
sugar, baking powder, eggs, and milk.
What can I do first?
Mom: You can start making the cake mix.
Lena: I like this part of baking. I am adding
each ingredient to the mixing bowl.
Two cups of flour, a quarter cup of
cocoa powder, one cup of sugar, and a
teaspoon of baking powder
After I stir it all around, I can add the
rest of the ingredients.
Mom: That’s good, Lena. Now, it’s time to put
the bowl on the mixer.
Lena: I am adding the eggs one at a time.
That’s one, that’s two, and that’s three
eggs.
Now, I add three quarters of a cup of
butter.
This is one quarter of a cup of milk.
I pour it in slowly, so that it doesn’t
splash out.
Mom: OK, it looks ready. Now, let’s put the
cake mix into the cake pans.
