1. WHAT CAUSES YOU TO BE ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA?


It makes us addicted because it connects us to the community that have the same hobby, skills,
and talent that we have. And for that, it makes us feel more understandable and we can learn
more. Also, social media can make us relax from a hectic schedule or have us get away from
reality for a bit which also helps. And have fun with different phases of creativity social media, it
can also make us laugh or get inspired as well.
2. HOW DOES BEING ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA AFFECT YOU?

Social media is one of the greatest gifts in our generation and it has a lot of advantages
and disadvantages depending on how we use it. Being addicted to social media can lead
to serious addictions and their associated consequences such as anxiety, depression,
irritability, distancing oneself from the world and from family relationships, loss of
control, and so on.
One of the greatest distractions of our time as a student is social media. Social media gets
people and especially students distracted to the extent that they lose focus completely on their
studies.

Many students enjoy browsing and having fun on social media rather than doing their
school works. All of these lead to a waste of time and a decrease in academic performance.

3. HOW DO YOU COPE WITH YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA ADDICTION?


Ways to cope with social media addiction is to be aware of the trigger that will make you want to
use social media, and find other activities to do instead using social media because there are
certain things that can trigger the urge to use social media once you are addicted. For example,
boredom, loneliness or even procrastination. If you know what triggers you, you can be more
prepared to avoid them. Also, try reading a book or taking a walk outside. When you’re
procrastinating, try using time management for you to be able to focus on your studies. Being
aware of your triggers can help you be more mindful of social media use.
