TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION; Is it a good help to students or it is utilized for hi-tech cheating?

In today's generation, I do agree that technological innovations are more used for cheating rather than helping the student to
improve in doing their coursework. Instead of relying primarily on textbooks, students rely upon technology, in the reason of
they are scared of getting low marks. Thus hi-tech cheating makes their coursework get done easily. However, not every
student has the access to technology, so it's not a hundred percent sure that all students use technology for cheating.
At all levels of education, technological innovations are having a big impact. The traditional classroom is being disrupted by
online courses, instructional aids, educational software, social networking tools, and other developing technology. CEPA
research provides insight into how technological innovations are being used and how effective they are at helping to improve
student outcomes. However, the latter practice is now so ubiquitous that it has become an epidemic: an overwhelming
majority of students are using information technology to break academic honesty rules without even realizing it. Admit it or
not, We students can't stand on our feet without the help of technology. The Internet contains an endless supply of knowledge
and information that allows us to learn about almost any topic or question we may have. Using a search engine like Google,
you can ask virtually any question and find a web page with an answer to and information about that question. There are also
millions of videos on sites like YouTube explaining various topics, and even online courses to help teach us about many
different subjects. Constantly emerging new technologies have a significant impact on higher education – both positive and
negative. One of the negative aspects of using technology for education and especially for assessment is its potential to
support academic dishonesty, namely to facilitate the student in cheating and plagiarism. Submission of online assignments is
prepared in the absence of a teacher, but mainly modifies the means of cheating rather than encouraging academic dishonesty.
It has the potential and ability to increase the ease with which students gain access to information, both inside and outside of
the classroom. Many of the same features that allow technology to make our lives better can also be used in ways that are not
appropriate in an academic setting. Student coursework, assignments, and papers should always represent their thoughts, and
ideas unless properly cited. The teacher needs to outsmart students right now using, Online tests that can detect cheating if
students cheat or violate their academic integrity policies. They catch cheats by using proctoring software, cameras, and IP
monitoring. However, without proctoring, online tests cannot detect if you cheated if you do it smartly or involve
professionals to write your work. Create questions that require higher-order thinking. Instead of having students respond to
questions that can be answered by a simple web search or even by finding the answers in their textbooks, create questions that
are on the analysis, synthesis, and evaluation levels, It will be more challenging to ask a friend or “Google” the answer when
the questions require students to explain, analyze, infer, create, compose, evaluate, and authentically demonstrate their
mastery of course content.
