DECATHLON

CHMT DAYS

PRE-PREPARATION:

Students will be grouped into 5 factions based on the movie “Divergent”. Every students from
1st year to 3rd year will be grouped accordingly with the use of an online randomizer or group
generator to create the 5 factions to avoid biases. Each faction must have a chieftain, an
assistant and a secretary.

● The chieftain will be the leader of the faction; therefore, decisions will be made final
through this faction’s leader.
● The assistant will assist the chieftain in leading the faction. The assistant chieftain is in
charge of keeping the flag/banner they made representing their faction, losing the
banner means there will be punishment.
● The secretary oversees taking down notes of every corresponding violations. The
secretary is expected to report to the chieftain.

3rd Faction: CANDOR The Honest Black


4th Faction: DAUNTLESS The Brave Yellow

5th Faction: ERUDITE The Intelligent Blue

Each factions should wear their respective color coding shirts and a black pants, must illustrate
their own emblem on their respective banners and perform their own chant. They will be given
5 minutes to present their faction.

Materials: Tela for Banner/Flag, Felt tip pen, Paper and pencil for note taking

Note:

● Each faction must choose representatives in every stations. Members should not be
playing the same station. 1 player in every stations must held accountable of protecting
their banner.
● Time is the enemy. The faster they will be able to finished a station, the shorter the time
that they will allocate during the game.
● After accomplishing the task in the station, one player must hold their banner
and must transfer it to another player from the next station in order to
continue the game. Transferring of banners from station to station must be
continuous.
● Unable to protect their banner must be held liable and must receive punishment.
● Unable to follow instructions will be given additional time.
● There will be facilitators who will be monitoring the players. If there will be violations,
there will be a consecutive time to be added.

STATIONS

1. JIGSAW PUZZLE

Each factions must work together to complete a jigsaw puzzle as quickly as possible. Initially,
the factions will be given separate bags of puzzle pieces. Time is the enemy, the faster they will
be able to complete the puzzle, the faster they will proceed to another station.

2. GUESS ME!

This game is the same as charades. The faction will choose 8 players. The player will pick a
piece of paper from the box and acts. They can do “PASS” but, all of the words in every pieces
of paper must be answered in order to proceed to the next station.

Resources: Paper strips with words to act out.

Words are from the professions of HM and TM.

3. TURISMO HENYO TM

Topics: PHILIPPINE CULTURE, TOURISM, AND GEOGRAPHY

From the usual well-known "Pinoy Henyo". This game circulates around the Philippines
throughout the distinct categories of gastronomy, capitals & regions itself, for example,
Letchon.

1.Therefore, only “Oo, Hindi, Pwede” are allowed for the companies to make a guess within the
given time.

2.Whomever company has guessed the fastest garnering the smallest amount of time given,
will earn higher money points.

3.Every company will choose a member to guess, if each member will guess the right answer.

4.Another of the teammates will going to guess, each word will be given a timer.

Less than a minute: 100k points 3-4 minutes: 70k

1-2 minutes: 90k 4-5 minutes: 60k and so on...

2-3 minutes: 80k

Materials: Word tag to be guessed. Prepare 5 for each company. Chalk and rag.

4. FLIP THE BOTTLE HM/TM

Topics: BARTENDING, FOOD, AND BEVERAGE


1.Levels will be marked on a table from 0 to 10. Each level corresponds to a certain amount of
money points.

2.A bottle is then placed at level 0. Then each company player must flip a separate plastic
bottle with water inside in order to move the bottle to a higher level in just one minute.

3.After the minute ends, wherever level the bottle is at, the number of money points that the
level corresponds to is the amount of money points the facilitator will give to the company.

4.There are 5 groups. Two groups will be going to have a battle. The last one remaining group
will be separated and join to other group.

Materials: Long neck bottle, Tape, Table, Plastic bottle for flipping

Note: each team will be given 2 bottles with water. When a member will not flip the bottle,
another member of the group will going to flip the bottle. They must finish the game before to
move in other station master.

5. GUESS THE COUNTRY

1.The company will choose 3 members to represent the company.

2.Once the first person who makes a guess about that specific country and tells the answer to
the station facilitator will win.

2.Printed pictures will be used for picturing out the photo stated to make a guess. For example,
the photo is 🎤 + 🅰️+ 🚰 = SINGAPORE. Money points will be given by the facilitators.

3.If the 3 members of each company cannot answer the question the facilitator will allowed to
ask to the group. Each question will be given a 2 mins to guess the country.

Material: 5 printed copies of the photo to be guessed.

Note: players can do pass.

6. GOBLET OF WATER

Topic: FOOD AND BEVERAGE, FOOD SERVICE

A tray of water goblets with water inside is placed at the end of a long table. One company
member must know the basics of carrying a tray of water goblets and placing each water goblet
on the long table as if serving imaginary guests some water. The company member must then
“serve” the water goblets from end to end of the table and then collect them again from end to
end without spilling the water inside the water goblets. A spill from the goblet will mean a
demerit from the point that is meant to be given to you by the facilitator at a certain time
range. The faster the game is finished; the higher money points are given.

Less than a minute: 100k points

1-2 minutes: 90k

2-3 minutes: 80k

3-4 minutes: 70k

4-5 minutes: 60k and so on...


Example: If a company finished the game within 3-4 minutes, it will be given 70k. But if there
were spills from the water, an amount of 10k is demerited from the points. Therefore, the
company will only receive 60k.

Materials: Table, Tray, Water goblets

7. CROSSWORDS HM/TM

Each faction will solve the crossword. (Topics: Cost Control, Business Finance, Front Office,
Tour Guiding, Tourism...) The words in the crossword will describe the treasure that is
supposed to be found in the treasure hunt.

Space Required: INDOOR

Resources: Crossword, Pencil, Paper

Group Size: 10 Players

Note: The main difference between a scavenger hunt and a treasure hunt is that a scavenger
hunt involves collecting items from a list of specific items, whereas a treasure hunt involves
following a series of clues to find an object.

8. TREASURE HUNT HM/TM

1.Each member of the company must put their head in the game.

2.Each company will be given a map created specifically to find a treasure (a key to the next
station) that is hidden just inside the campus. But there is a twist, inside the map is the
coordinate of the areas they need to decode in order to proceed to the 1st area, then to the
2nd, and lastly to the treasure.

3.The game will be played by group. And be given 30 mins to locate using the map.

Materials: Map, clues for the treasure, the treasure itself

Topics: Philippine Culture and Tourism Geography. Using tourist map.

Space required: Indoor

9. SCAVENGER HUNT HM/TM


After finding the treasures in the treasure hunt, the 5 factions must give the treasure to the
scavenger hunt facilitator in exchange for a list of items they must find. The faction should find
the list of items as fast as they could in order to proceed to the last station. After finding all the
items, one player who is held responsible of holding their banner must bring the items to the
chieftain who is stationed on the last game. The player must give the chieftain all the items and
the banner of their faction.

10. THE FINAL DESTINATION

After the chieftain received the items and the banner, he/she will give the items to the
facilitator in exchange of rope for the banner. The chieftain then proceeds to the obstacles and
must not let the banner touch the ground. If the banner touches the ground, the chieftain will
restart the station.

At the end of the obstacle, there will be a mystery box. A certain facilitator will be giving
instructions to the chieftain. The chieftain must choose the right decision to succeed the game.

Materials: rope, pole (bamboo)

Here’s a catch: after the chieftain finishes the obstacle, a facilitator will instruct the
chieftain to pick a piece of paper from the box. The box contains final mission.

The mission is to choose the best 3 players who will help the chieftain to build their
own flagpoles. The catch is that; the chieftain must let the best 3 players to crossed
the obstacles blindfolded. The chieftain will be the voice and will give directions to
the players. Once they finished, the chieftain will instruct the 3 players to build their
flagpoles and must raise their banner with their faction’s emblem. Once finished,
the team must perform their chant.

Facilitators will be the one to check the time they finished the game.
