1. An electric dipole with dipole moment 3 × 10-8 C-m is aligned at 90° with the direction of a uniform
electric field of magnitude 2 × 104 N ⁄ C. Calculate the distance of the point where the field strength
is measured.
2. A Carnot engine operating between Temperatures T 1 and T2 has the efficiency of 1/6.When the
temperature T2 is lowered by 62K,it efficiency becomes 1/3, calculate The Temperatures T 1 and T2. 3. The
inner surface of furnace wall is at 2000 0C and outer surface at 500 0C. Calculate the heat lost per m2 area of
the wall. If thermal conductivity of the brick is 0.5 W/m 0C & the wall thickness is 200 mm. 4. A student
needs to move a 10kg desk across the classroom. If the coefficient of static friction between the floor and
the desk is 0.301, how much force does the student need to apply to get the desk to start to move?
