Bored Pile Work 0.

8B Bridge Construction Project - PIK 2

Concrete Usage

PT. GEOTEKINDO
BORED PILE FOUNDATION BRIDGE J8B
Starting July 1, 2021 we started moving the equipment to the site one by one

to the construction of bore pile area 8B Bridge A1 And started the first drilling on

July 05, 2021 because we just found out the very soft ground condition under the

surface of the first pile was completed on July 9, 2021 and the last pile finished on

August 12th. A total of 36 poles were completed. The overall pile depth is 1895.09

m and the amount of concrete according to the design is 954 m3 but after

completing all bore pile points the total amount of concrete used is 1245 m3 with

an excess used of approximately 30.5% of the design.

 Things to do to prevent overuse of concrete

 Used of steel plate and the stone

The first time we drilled the machine was always tilted due platform very soft

and to anticipate the equipment being in a safe condition first we put 1 m thick

stone on the platform and then installed a lot of steel plates for equipment

construction. See attached photo 1

 Used of the long casing

This method is used on “self-restraining” soils or soils that are prone to “over

breaking” we install a 10 - 15 m long casing. To work as a “guidance” drilling

provides protection and prevents the soil from collapsing into the hole. However,

the depth of entry of the casing is limited.

 Used of a lot of polymers

We use 50 kg polymer for one boredpile hole with a depth of 53 m and we

have also checked the results of the slurry test together with the Wika staff for the

results, can see photos 2 and 3

 Actual condition in boredpile area

 Stockpiling of swamps about 3 m high without any compaction and

foundation treatment

 Geological survey report 0 – 4 m have soft soil and then 4 – 15 m soft

soil and the mud

 And then 15 – 53 m the condition of the soil type is clay where the soil is

very sticky and difficult to remove from the bucket

 With the condition of the soil layer as the data above will be easily prone

to the use of excess concrete
