Based on the experience of developing and delivering your instructional unit, list three short-
term goals to improve specific areas of your teaching practice based on the unit of instruction
and describe your plan to reach each short-term goal.

observation of a veteran teacher, etc.)
1. Improve resources for ELL students. Research on the internet/find new resources.

2. Improve the anticipatory set. Observe both new and veteran teachers for
ideas.

3. Improve assessment ideas, both

formative and summative. Discuss with administration and professional
development team.

Long-Term Goals: Teachers who are dedicated to their profession and to improving the lives of
students will continually look for ways to grow and learn. The best way to ensure that learning is
prioritized is to create a long-term goal. Create one long term goal that is specific and
measurable. Make sure to discuss the following:
Long-Term Goal: Facilitate a Junior Kindergarten program to meet the needs of the
community.
Rationale: Why did you choose this goal? How I chose this goal because this is something I
do you expect it to improve the outcomes of your have been striving for since I was 19 and saw
future students? the need in the community. I have been
working towards this goal for years now
because I lost count of how many parents, I
have had conversations with that are
struggling with what to do with their child
that is not ready for kindergarten but cannot
repeat preschool. I want to meet the needs of
the community by building a program from
the ground up and bridging the gaps for the
students.
