7. Construct a network with 3 switches, 6 PC &

3 Routers using RIP(Routing Information
Protocol).

1. Connect 2 computers without a Connecting Device.

Aim: Connect 2 computers without a Connecting Device .

Apparatus required: Two pc’s, copper cross over wire.

Procedure:
1.First we choose two pc and name them pc0 and pc1 from the option end devices.
2.Now ,we will give ip addresses to both the pcs.

For pc0
For pc1

3. Now, we will connect both the pcs using copper cross over wire from connection
options and connect fastethernet ports of both the pcs.
4. After that, we will add simple pdu (P) to both pcs and click on simulation to
check if pcs are properly connected.

Result-: The connection has established properly.

2.Connect 4 computers with a Switch.
Aim: Connect 4 computers with a Switch.

Apparatus required: Four pcs, PT-Switch, copper straight through wire

Theory: Switch is a network device which is used to enable the connection

establishment and connection termination on the basis of need. Switch is
operated on Data link layer. In this packet filtering is available. It is type of full
duplex transmission mode and it is also called efficient bridge.

Procedure:

to check if pcs are properly connected.
Result: The connection has established properly.
3.Connect 5 PCs through a Hub

Aim: Connect 5 computers through a Hub.

Apparatus required: five pcs, , copper straight through wire, PT-Hub.

Theory: Hub is a networking devices which is used to transmit the signal to each
port (except one port) to respond from which the signal was received. Hub is
operated on Physical layer. In this packet filtering is not available. It is also
known as a repeater as it transmits signal to every port except the port from
where signal is received. Also, hubs are not that intelligent in communication and
processing information for 2nd and 3rd layer.

Procedure:
1.First , we select 5pcs- PC1,PC2,PC3 ,PC4 and PC5 from end devices option.
