NOTICE WRITING
What is Notice Writing ?
A notice provides advance information about any event in a comprehensive
manner. It helps in giving information to a large number of people without having
to circulate it individually.
A notice is a written or printed announcement (Example - a notice for sale). It is
written in order to inform a large number of people about something that has
happened or is about to happen.
It could be an upcoming event, competition, Lost, and found notice or just a piece
of information to be delivered to the targeted audience. It is generally written in a
formal tone.
Notices are factual and to-the-point. The language used is simple and formal, not
flowery. They are put up on display boards in schools or in public places.

GUIDELINES
 A notice must contain complete information.
 A date and a heading must be included.
 A notice is written in third person. So, “I”, “we” and “you” should be
avoided.
 Write within the given word limit.
 Put the notice in a box.
 Include the name and designation of the person putting up the notice at the
end.

The school is organising a Yoga Workshop for the students of

to 2 pm in the school hall. Renowned Yoga trainer will conduct
the workshop. Students interested in participating should be
seated in the hall by 8:45 am.
