1. Is Globalization is recent phenomenon?

Whilst it may seem that globalization is a recent phenomena given the immense speed at
which it has increased over the last fifty years due to significant technological advancements, it
actually has been for much longer. Such as the Silk Road, which was a time when trade expanded
quickly between China and Europe via an overland route, so it has been in existence for a long
time. However, the advancement of globalization has been progressive since then and more so
advanced in recent years so that must have been why it is still considered a recent phenomenon.

2. Differentiate “globophobia” from “globophilia”.

Globophobia is when someone fears or dislikes globalization. Globophilia, on the other
hand, refers to someone who supports and is in favor of globalization.

3. Explain why globalization helps accelerate social change.

The exchange of ideas and cultures made possible by globalization has promoted social
development and helped create a more accepting and open-minded society. Furthermore, the
ability to exchange ideas and information across borders has sparked innovation in the fields of
medicine, technology, and environmental preservation, all of which helps with the acceleration
of social change.

4. Explain why developments in technology is one of the causes of globalization.

Both the acceleration of globalization and the development of newer technologies have
been significantly accelerated by technology. Technology, as we are all know, simplifies people's
life, and this has accelerated globalization as well. The world is rapidly entering a digital economy
thanks to technology, in which every activity—social as well as economic—is impacted by it more
and more. It contributes to globalization since newer technologies like the internet and mobile
phones make cross-border transactions and interactions convenient.
