LESSON PLAN - ENGLISH LITERATURE YEAR 7 (National & Cambridge)

Lesson:
The weekly test

Period allocation:
02 period (40 minutes per period)

Materials required:
 The text book – Matilda

Objectives:
 Enable learners to read & understand the text
 Learners will be able to analyze characters in the story
 Learners will be able to answer oral & written questions.

Procedure:
Step 01: Warm up activity
Discuss about Ms. Trunchbull
 Physical Appearance
 Character Traits
 Some of the insults used by Ms. Trunchbull and identify a literary device used in it.

Step 02: Introduction


Learners would take turns and read the chapter to the class.

Step 03: Discussion and activity


Discuss on the tests and punishments given by Ms. Trunchbull to the students.
Thereafter ask students to fill in the chart accordingly.

Step 04:
Discuss the meaning of unfamiliar words identified by the learners from the chapter.
