The manager recommends implementing a numbering system to reduce problems with long lines at the counter. Customers would take a number when entering and monitors would display the next number and corresponding cashier. This would prevent arguments between customers in different lines and ensure customers know their order when it's their turn. Providing paper menus for customers to review while waiting is also suggested. The owner is asked to approve taking steps to put these recommendations into place.

From: Andrew Martinez, manager Date: January 26, 2020 Subject: Recommendations to reduce problems with counter lines.
Dear Ms. Kim:
As you requested, here are my recommendations to reduce the problems we’ve been having with the counter lines at Paul’s Burger Shop. As you know, each cashier has a separate line for customer. This means that sometimes a customer in one line has to wait longer than a customer in another. This creates frustration among the customers. I’ve actually seen customers in different lines get in arguments. Also, some customers are so concerned about their position in line, that when they get to the cashier, they still don’t know what to order. To solve this problem, I recommended that we have a numbering system, similar to the one a deli at a supermarket use. When customers enter the restaurant, they take a number from a dispenser. A number board beside the menu will indicate which customers is next and which cashier the customer should go to. Also, I would like recommend that we provide a paper menu to customers, which they can read while waiting for their number. This will ensure that customers know what to order when its their turn at the cashier. Please let me know whether you would like me to take the required steps to implement these recommendations. Thank you. Andrew
