EXPERIENCE

1. Manufacturing Engineer
Caterpillar India Private Limited – India (IPSD) Oct 2020 – Present (2 Years+)
 Responsible for concept design , surface modelling , sheet metal design ,design of fixtures
required for Engine Test cell using Creo 7.0 parametric software.
 Responsible for designing new layouts for new test cell implementation project using Auto CAD
2021 software.
 Responsible for implementing ECN ( Engineering Change Number) related changes for Engines
in TTP ( Test Trim Paint) division using Siemens integrated Team centre PLM software and SAP
ERP software
 Responsible for the Acquisition of test cell equipment for newly built test cell to test Tier 4 and
CPCB IV diesel engines
 Worked as a member of CFT for the execution of “ Project VIJAY “ for production of 13L CPCB IV engines
 Worked on quality control of the engines with the implementation of Assembly line Poka yoke and
analysis of the potential failure modes by FMEA approach.
 Worked as Section Manager on 13L and 15 L Diesel generator engines assembly lines and was
responsible for timely delivery of the engines with zero defects.
 Instrumental in problem solving using 7 QC tools , SPC and MSA techniques

2. Student Intern
Caterpillar India Private Limited, Thiruvallur (CIPL) May 2019 – June 2019 (1 Month)

Worked as a Project Intern in Caterpillar India Pvt. Ltd, Thiruvallur. Successfully completed the
projects titled, “ Understanding of Metallurgical properties of parts and report writing “

During the internship period, I assisted the Advanced Materials Technology department with
testing and analysing the failed parts in the field for 2 models - OHT and HEX vehicles in the
MHU division.

This helped in identifying metallurgical properties and chemical properties of the lubricants used in the
vehicle. I collaborated with the Metallurgy department on all the test processes like Hardness
test , Tensile test , Non Destructive testing , Impact testing , Magnetic Particle Inspection test ,
Micro structure Interpretation and prepared the field failure analysis reports for more than 25
failed parts.

This helped the team to achieve their goal in a shorter span of time.

PROJECTS

1. New Test cell implementation for less than 7Lit diesel engines - Ongoing ( from Jun 2022)
Caterpillar IPSD Hosur , India.

The project is aimed at establishing the new test cell for meeting the increased volume demand of 7 lit diesel
engines to achieve zero defects engine by doing the hot test in this new cell. Responsible for preparing layouts and
acquisition of new test cell equipment from the supplier.

2. Conversion of existing test cell liable for testing Tier 4 diesel and CPCB IV engines - Ongoing
( from Nov 22) .
Caterpillar IPSD Hosur , India.

The project is aimed at modifying the existing test cell for testing the Tier 4 Emission regulation Diesel
engines. So far, only Tier 3 engines have been tested.

ACHIEVEMENTS

 Credited for the successful contribution to the completion of the “UTN parts production” project
 Awarded Third Rank for overall performance in B.E (Manufacturing Engineering) course during
the academic year (2016-2020).
 Student Director for Initiatives and Internal Auditing team in CEG Tech Forum Anna University
 Class Representative for a group of 52 students during 1st and 2nd Semester.
