COURSE DESCRIPTION This course deals with gender as a construct. It examines how one develops his or her gender identities, explores one’s gendered life through different theories and sociological lenses,
and discovers different social institutions that shape and influence one’s gendered life. This course also engages students to conduct gender-based researches that will further lead to the
understanding of gender dynamics

COURSE INTENDED LEARNING At the end of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Explain gender construction as a social fact and discuss the role of gender and its impacts on different dimensions of society.
2. Analyze and critique issues surrounding gender across different societal dimensions.
3. Write and present a term paper on a specific gender and society issue affecting the Philippines today.
