What is open AI GPT-4 ?

OpenAI GPT-4 is a large language model that is multimodal, meaning it

can respond to both text and images. ChatGPT is an impressive tool that
has gained popularity and will soon be receiving a significant upgrade
through the launch of GPT-4. Most people currently use the free preview
of ChatGPT, which runs on OpenAI's GPT-3.5 model. Despite some
notable flaws, the chatbot's popularity has continued to soar, making it a
tough act to follow. OpenAI has announced the release of GPT-4 on its
website.

Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) is a neural network that

utilizes machine learning to comprehend data and create responses. It's
the underlying language model behind the widely used chatbot,
ChatGPT. The latest version of this model is GPT-4, which represents an
improvement over the GPT-3.5 model that drives the free version of
ChatGPT.

What are Key Features of GPT-4?

GPT-3 is equipped with over 175 billion parameters, enabling it to quickly

generate responses to prompts. GPT-4 is expected to improve upon this
with an increased number of parameters, providing even more accurate
and focused responses. According to OpenAI, GPT-4 is capable of
handling up to 25,000 words of text input and output, which is over eight
times the 3,000 words supported by ChatGPT with GPT-3.5.

Another key improvement with GPT-4 is its multimodal functionality,

which allows it to process both text and image inputs (though responses
are still in text only). Microsoft has confirmed that it has already used
GPT-4 in Bing with ChatGPT, and the increased functionality will help to
deliver even more accurate results in multiple formats.

Microsoft is also pursuing the development of a multimodal AI, including

the Visual ChatGPT tool, which lets users upload, edit, and generate
images within ChatGPT. This move is partly in response to the
competition, with both Meta and Google's AI systems already offering
this feature, albeit not yet to the general public.

What are Latest Updates on GPT-4?

According to OpenAI's GPT-4 research section, five Indian languages -

Bangla, Urdu, Punjabi, Marathi, and Telugu - were included among the
26 languages tested and trained on. Even though the selection of these
languages was likely random, the results suggest that GPT-4 will be
capable of understanding regional languages. As a result, the new
ChatGPT will be able to understand and respond in regional Indian
languages, expanding the potential applications of chatbots for Indian
businesses in the future.

A recent study from Fishbowl, a professional networking app, shows that

over 43% of surveyed workers utilize AI technologies like ChatGPT for
work-related tasks, representing a nearly 50% increase from January of
this year. However, only about 32% of ChatGPT users in the study
stated they used the chatbot with their boss’s knowledge. In addition,
68% of respondents said they don’t inform their manager about their use
of AI technologies for work-related tasks. The survey included
employees from notable organizations like Amazon, Google, and IBM,
among others.

Despite employees being unwilling to discuss their ChatGPT usage with

their supervisors, they were willing to share it with their coworkers. Posts
and comments mentioning ChatGPT have increased by 107% since
January, according to Fishbowl. The chatbot is frequently used for
resumes and cover letters, copywriting, coding, and the creation of sales
and marketing emails. Fishbowl suggests that the recent release of the
GPT-4 language model has further heightened excitement surrounding
ChatGPT, prompting speculation about its potential to replace human
workers.

Can GPT-4 beat GPT-3.5 in terms of performance?

The main difference with GPT-4 is its ability to process uploaded images.
One remarkable demonstration showed how a simple sketch could be
transformed into a functional website using the generated code from
GPT-4. Additionally, OpenAI showcased GPT-4's capacity to identify
humor in a sequence of photos that required contextual understanding,
such as a smartphone being charged incorrectly. Despite its simplicity,
recognizing jokes is a challenging task for artificial intelligence. In
another experiment, The New York Times provided GPT-4 with a photo
of a refrigerator's contents and asked it to create a dinner using the
available items. While the image feature is not yet available online,
OpenAI plans to make it accessible in the upcoming weeks.

GPT-4 has improved its ability to generate written responses, which are
longer, more comprehensive, and more reliable than its predecessor.
The new version can produce responses up to 25,000 words, a
significant increase from the previous 4,000, and can provide detailed
instructions for unusual situations such as cleaning a piranha's fish tank
or extracting a strawberry's DNA. An early user claimed that it provided
thorough pick-up line recommendations based on a dating profile query.
GPT-4, with its language skills and ability to write code in various
programming languages, has allowed inexperienced users to create
classic games like Pong, Tetris, and Snake, and even develop their own
games. It is predicted that GPT-4's linguistic prowess will be useful for
character development, storyboarding, and video game material
generation, leading to the emergence of independent game suppliers.
GPT-4 may also be used for producing news stories, moderating
discussion forums, and developing marketing content for game
previews. GPT-4 has the potential to change the application
development process, with users claiming to have created apps in
minutes. According to an analyst, anyone can code with some coaching,
and AI can be a capable teacher.

GPT-4 has the potential to revolutionize different sectors. DoNotPay, a

legal services chatbot, plans to use GPT-4 to create "one-click lawsuits"
to fight robocallers. The tool can create a 1,000-word lawsuit from a
call's transcript. This method is also being used by Keeper's CEO to
improve their consumer matches. ABI Research's Lian Jye Su predicts
significant advancements in AI applications, such as connected
automobile dashboards and remote diagnostics in healthcare. GPT-4's
ability to handle such tasks that were previously not possible is a
promising development.

Practical Usage of GPT-4

● The new ChatGPT Plus can handle up to 50 pages of text making

it possible for users to use GPT-4 to complete tasks without having
to read lengthy documents like contracts or white papers. It is
important for employees to understand how to use GPT-4
effectively to achieve desired results. For example, users can ask
GPT-4 to compose an email based on the output of the contract's
top areas of concern.
