 Introduction

1- Project of 150:The 150 meter road that surrounds Erbil city center as shown in figure (1)
is the city largest road yet constructed.The project is expected to take around three and a
half year to finish.The project’s lifespan is projected to be around 20 years.The project has
not yet been finished.They plan to construct a 70-kilometer districts as well as two sided
roadways.The Hemin group company which is a kurdish local company,is in charge of the
transportation project.The highway construction cover all project,including culvert and
bridge addition to the road.
2- Asphalt plant:The asphalt plant used for the manufacture of asphalt macadam and
other form’s of coated roadstone sometimes collectively known as blacktop or asphalt
concrete .asphalt plant work :the main role’s of the plant are to feed the rock materials and
the asphalt cement,dry and heat the aggregate,filter the gases coming from the drying
system,mix the materials and transport them to a storage silo or directly to a trunk shown
in figure (2).

1.excavator
Excavators are an essential piece of heavy equipment for most construction projects.
Often referred to as diggers, excavators are used for all kinds of jobs like material
handling, landscaping, demolition, mining projects, trenching, river dredging, and

2.Dumper dump truck
 

A dumper or dumper truck (British English) or dump truck (North American

English) is a truck designed for carrying bulk material, often on building sites. A
dumper has a body which tilts or opens at the back for unloading and is usually an
open 4-wheeled vehicle with the load skip in front of the driver. The skip can tip to
dump the load; this is where the name "dumper" comes from. They are normally
diesel powered. A towing eye is fitted for secondary use as a site tractor. Dumpers
with rubber tracks are used in special circumstances and provide a more even
distribution of weight compared to tires. Continuous tracks allow the operator to carry
heavier payload on slick, snowy, or muddy surfaces, and are popular in some
countries
Asphalt factory
 
An asphalt plant is a plant used for the manufacture of
asphalt, macadam and other forms of coated roadstone,
sometimes collectively known as blacktop or asphalt
concrete.

The asphalt plants or asphalt mixing plant is one plant that is

used for mixing the dry warm aggregate, padding and
Asphalt for homogeneous mixture at the required
temperature. And it is widely used to the construction of
highway, city road and parking lot.
 What have I learned on this scientific trip?

During this trip we learned how to make some bitumen in the bitumen factory and
also how to transport bitumen from the bitumen factory to a designated place that
does not have a long distance between the bitumen factory and the road. Also in
the asphalt factory, after separating the aggregate into different sizes, it is
transferred to the asphalt machine through a conveyor belt. Then heating the
bitumen. Bitumen must be heated too much as it may lose its properties
