NEW BONDING RITUALS

Ritual of Ancestry
You forge a bond with the chosen item by communing and undertaking a task for the spirits of your
ancestors.
Prerequisite: Knowledge (History) 6 ranks or Knowledge (Religion) 6 ranks
Task: You spend 24 hours performing a family ritual that allows your meditation and knowledge of the
history of your relations to receive visions from your ancestors. Though they do not directly speak to
you, they send clear visions of a task they wish for you to perform. The task given is always tied to the
family history in some way (for example, if the ancestors were barbarians that hunted orcs, a task
involving harming orcs would be given). If the task involves defeating a creature, the creature must have
a Challenge Rating that equals or exceeds your character level and you must deal the finishing blow. If
the task involves succeeding at skill checks (such as climbing a mountain, swimming across a channel,
singing a song important to the family lineage) then the skill check involved must beat a DC equal to 20
plus your character level. If the task involves damaging, stealing, or building an object than the object
requires as much gold piece cost as it would be to add the magic to the item. (For example, if the
ancestors required the destruction of a rival household or religious organization, destroying enough to
equal to the cost of the ritual is all that needs to be done. In some cases, a sacrifice of personal wealth
equal to the amount needed to bond the item is required. The DM makes the call on what task you need
to perform. The item to be bonded must be used or worn in some fashion during these tasks. s
Ceremony: Within 24 hours of completing the task, you must complete a 15-minute ceremony of
communing with and detailing the deeds of your ancestors as well as honoring the task of which they set
forth for you.
Benefit: Once per day, you can choose to gain the guidance of your ancestors for any d20 roll, adding +1
bonus to the roll made.
Truebond Benefit: The bonus you receive from calling upon your ancestors increases to +4.

intended actions have caused you to seek vengeance upon them.
