Teaching Date & April 6, 2021
Time: 9:30 – 10:20 Quarter: 3RD QUARTER

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards Demonstrates understanding of the concepts of parallel and
perpendicular lines, angles, triangles and quadrilaterals
B. Performance Objective Construct and describe parallel and perpendicular lines, angles,
triangles and quadrilaterals in designs, drawings and models
C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives  Describes and illustrates parallel, intersecting and
( Write the LC code for each) perpendicular lines
 Draw perpendicular, intersecting and parallel lines using a
ruler
 Participate actively during the discussion
M4GE-IIIa-12.2
CONTENT Identifying Parallel, Inter-secting and Perpendicular Lines
( Subject Matter)
II. LEARNINGRESOURCES
A. References
1. Teachers Guide pages 205 – 208
2. Learners Material Pages 156 – 157
B. Other Learning Resources Illustrations of different kinds of lines, ray, line segments, point,
pens, papers
III. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing past lesson or Presenting the Conduct a drill on identifying lines, rays, line segment and point
new lesson
------------- point

------------ ray

------------ line segment

------------ line

B. Establishing a purpose of the new lesson

Guessing Game
“What Am I?”

- I have an exact location in space. I am represented by a dot.

(point)
- I have no endpoint and I can go on and on in opposite
directions. What am I? (line)
- I start out at a point and can be extended in one direction.
What am I? (ray)
- I am a part of a line with 2 endpoints. What am I ? (line
segment)
C. Presenting Examples/ instances of the new
lesson

How should you form your lines during flag ceremony?

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new Discuss the characteristics of each kind of lines.
skills no.1.

PARALLEL LINE

- Lines that do not meet or intersect at any

point.
- are two lines that are always the same
distance apart and never touch. In order
for two lines to be parallel, they must be
drawn in the same plane, a perfectly flat
surface like a wall or sheet of paper.

INTERSECTING LINE

- Lines that cross or meet each other.

- The intersecting lines share a common
point, which exists on all the intersecting
lines, and is called the point of
intersection.

PERPENDICULAR LINE

- Lines that intersect and form a square

corner.
- The perpendicular line is a line that
crosses another line at a 90° angle. Each
corner meets at a 90° angle. This is also
known as a right angle.

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new Let pupils answer the first activity in their worksheet.
skills no.2 A. Tell whether the following are parallel lines, intersecting lines, or
perpendicular lines.

F. Developing Mastery Do the second activity in the worksheet.

(Leads to Formative Assessment 3.) B. Encircle the letter of the correct answer.

G. Finding practical application of concepts and Conduct a contest on naming lines

skills in daily living
H. Making Generalization and abstraction What are the different kinds of lines?
about the lesson How do these lines differ from each other?
I. Evaluating learning C. Draw the following lines in the box and identify the lines formed.

J. Additional activities for application and D. Using a ruler or a T-square, draw each pair of lines in the given
remediation statements.
1. Line AB and line CD are parallel lines.
2. Line EF and line GH are perpendicular lines.
3. Line AB and line KL are intersecting lines. They intersect at point
M.
4. Draw perpendicular lines that intersect at point X.
5. Draw three lines that intersect each other at only one point.

V.REMARKS
VI.REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in
the evaluation
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities for remediation
who scored below 80%
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No.
of learners who have caught up with
the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter
which my principal or supervisor can
help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover which I
wish to share with other teachers?
