Lesson Plan Project

Lesson Goals or Learning Targets (Word these as measurable student outcomes.)

Students will be able to solve beginner math sentences.

Students will be able to complete letter puzzles correctly.
Students will be able to neatly color within worksheet drawing.

Lesson Objectives or Success Criteria (Word these as student actions, use verbs.)

Students will write names on the paper. Students will solve math sentences correctly.
Students will arrange letters on the given template based on their answers. Students will
repeat the sentence their puzzle makes. Students will then color the worksheet with a
minimum of 3 colors.

Lesson Plan Content (Written narrative paragraph about the lesson content.)

First, I will allow the students to talk to each other while I set up the table group for the lesson.
Next, I will bring their attention to me by inviting them to sit down. After, I will introduce the
worksheet to the students and instruct them to write their name. To continue I will ask them to
guide me through the first math problem. Next, I will be asking them to complete the
remaining math problems on their own. After students complete their math problems, I will
review their answers. After reviewing their answers, I will ask them to write down the letter that
corresponds to their answers. Next, I will ask them to pronounce their sentences out loud to
me and ask them if they know about the holiday. If students have time to finish their
assignment their May Do will be to color the small drawing on the bottom of their paper.
Lastly, students will be cleaning up all supplies and helping set up for the next group.

Instructional Procedures

• Focusing Event (Describe how you will get students to focus attention on your teaching.)

I will be instructing students to sit down with me to bring their attention to me.

• Instructional Strategies (Describe each of the instructional methods you will employ during the
lesson.)

During the entire duration of the lesson plan, I will be using a direct instructional
method.

• Student Participation (How will you engage students and get them on board to participate?)

Before starting the lesson plan, I will be getting them on board by allowing them to talk
to each other for at least two minutes before starting with the worksheet.

• Formative Check (How will you check that all students are involved and engaged in the lesson?

In order to check the progress a student is making during the lesson plan I will be
checking in after every instruction I give. I will also remain infront of students for any
questions or if redirecting is needed. If a student is engaged and working well, I can
reward them with their “sand dollars”.

• Closure (How will you end the lesson purposefully, with intentionality?)

To close off the lesson students will be cleaning up their supplies and turning in their
paper to me.
• Assessment (How will you assess that students achieved the lesson goals or learning targets?)

I will be assessing the students' achievement by asking them to verbally tell me what
their sentence spells out. Students will be asked if they have prior knowledge of the
holiday.
