INTRODUCTION
TOPIC:
OBJECTIVES:
2. To discuss the various challenges and their effects on the business operation
The two primary sources of data collection instruments that was used are:
1. A questionnaire
2. Observation
This research, started in 2021 to 2022 about the effects/impact of the Covid-19
pandemic on the business, Ernst and Young Company Limited, was conducted. For
this research a questionnaire was created and send to my sister where she modify it
and send to her colleagues for answers. Although, it estimated only took about
fifteen minutes, it was challenging to obtain information for the questionnaires as
everyone was busy either attending to their family or working. It was also difficult
as some of the questions were not answered or the answers to the questions were
vague. This is helpful to students as they can get an understanding of how a major
company operates on a daily basis or the effects that took place when they
encountered an unexpected situation. I also chose this topic as I am interested to
learn about the company my sister worked for and I believed that it impact the
society as their working ability were of top level professional as the pandemic had
little effect on the operation of the business

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, Ernst and Young Company Limited was slightly impacted by the
pandemic. As a globally operated business, one of the biggest business in the
world, was not affected as I expected, they were able to operate as normal as they
were operating before the pandemic.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1.) EY could continue with their operation but I would like if they could have a
learning program where students could visit yearly to learn about what they
do.
2.) I also recommend that they could sponsor schools and provide them with
some of the services their offered.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Ernst and Young, one of the Big Four accounting firms, dates back to the early
twentieth century. Scotsman, Authur Young and American, Alwin Ernst founded
their separate companies in 1906 and 1903, respectively. EY was founded in 1989
when the third largest accounting firm at the time Ernst and Wendy (based in
Cleveland, Ohio), merge with the sixth largest firm Authur Young (headquarters in
New York), forming what, at the time, was the world’s largest accounting firm.
That even today is still one of the world’s largest firms that operate in over 150
countries.
This interest was inspired by watching employees of this firm work upon a visit to
the office with another one of its employees and as an upcoming business student;
I would like to know how the business world works by researching about a
company I wish to work with in the future. As a researcher, I think this will impact
the society, as it will provide knowledgeable information about the services that
the company offers, how to become an employee if they are interested and how
they can benefit from EY (https://www.ey.com).
