Assignment: Exploring Domains and Milestones

In this assignment, you will use the information you have learned to describe the developmental
domains of infants and toddlers and explore their developmental milestones. Use the chart below to
organize your information. Then, create a presentation of this information to explain your research.

Step 1: Research and gather information


Your research must include:

• A description of each domain


• A picture that illustrates the domain
• An explanation of how the picture supports the domain
• Four milestones for each age and domain on the chart below

Use the Milestones Checklist created by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (PDF, opens in a
new window) as a source. It is available free of charge on the agency's website. In addition to the
physical, social-emotional, and cognitive sections, use the "Act Early" and "Language/Communication"
info as appropriate.

Step 2: Organize your information


Use the chart below to organize your information. Be sure to gather enough information for each
domain.

Step 3: Present your information
After organizing the information, decide how you want to present your findings. You may choose any
tool you like, just make sure the tool will allow you to save in a format acceptable by VirtualSC (doc, pdf,
jpeg, png, mp3, mp4, and HTML). Submit the file in the online classroom.
