1. Problem Statement

The globe has been facing massive unemployment in recent times, and there are businesses that
are in a stagnant position for this reason. This was mainly because of the COVID-19 crisis.
Employees lost their jobs, and even employers faced issues in getting labor at an affordable cost
for their work. There are many regions where the availability of labor is great, but businesses
need skilled laborers, which is a little difficult to get. If there is less skilled labor, then the
business cannot show the required results for growth in the long term. So, it can be said that the
success of a business depends on the types of labour hired in the business (Thaheem, Sohail &
Mahmood, 2020). It is observed that there are many laborers looking for a job, and they have the
required skills for a particular business type. The industries are altered, which leads to the non-
availability of labor. There are many challenges and risks associated with the lack of labor in the
corporate world as the process of work becomes slow. This is mainly happening because there
are workplaces where the availability of skilled employees is reducing, and because of that,
attractive work opportunities are missed in some of those places. A lack of opportunities would
automatically lead to an improper work environment and result in the business (Thaheem, Sohail
& Mahmood, 2020).

2. Solutions

Local

In the UAE, there are situations where the government is planning to implement the limitations
of unskilled workers. The government has stated that there should be control over unskilled
laborers and that recruitment should be done on that basis so that there are skilled laborers in the
country. The UAE intends to bring highly skilled laborers with professional and educational
certificates. To improve productivity in some of the sectors of the economy, it is crucial to only
have skilled employees. This is done by the UAE government with the motive of bringing
development to the economy, which would be beneficial for UAE citizens. The government has
also mentioned that it is planning to change the criteria for recruitment to include minimum
qualifications with a specific percentage target. The disadvantage of such rules is that many
labourers have the right amount of knowledge but do not have the qualification on paper, so it is
a loss to them as the jobs are not available. So, there are many locals who are seeking a job and
have the skills required, but due to the new regulations, they cannot get the job because they are
not eligible or qualified for the job on paper (Ceric & Ivic, 2020). In the UAE, there is no other
application or digital platform where the idea has been used before, so locally it is going to be
the first application in the region because it would help in bringing the laborers together for the
first time and help the locals of the region to get the services that are required.

International

There are some international rules that are made for the laborers because, in the pandemic, even
the international market was harmed very badly. There are some solutions made by the global
market, and they are mainly related to the choices made in the global market (Horbach &
Rammer, 2020). As mentioned, there are different opportunities for bringing underdeveloped
countries into the global market for business, but as mentioned, there is a reduction in the
availability of skilled labor. Different countries, like South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, have
received many benefits from the relocation of the laborers. There are some companies in the
international market where this facility is available, where the customers can ask for services
online, and based on the services, the laborers are sent home for household requirements. These
can be online bookings of electricians, plumbers, housekeeping, and even drivers. The laborers
of each type are skilled in their fields, and they are hired by customers. The applications are very
effective, and they show the desired results. So it can be said that there are digital labour
platforms where the work is outsourced.

3. The Proposed Solution

The solution, which has been chosen as the first skilled labor in the UAE, is to use the digital
method to gather all the skilled employees in one place and make sure that they are properly
utilized for the right kind of jobs as per their skills and qualifications. The idea that has been
brought forward is basically an application that can be installed and kept on electronic devices.
The main focus of the application is to provide skilled labourers to the residents of the UAE to
assist them urgently with their requirements and matters. There are many laborers in the market
who look for different kinds of work and ask for jobs for lower wages daily. It is sometimes
risky to hire such people as they are not verified to be reliable and skilful at the same time.
Therefore, people hiring laborers randomly can be very risky as there are cases of laborers
involved in unethical practices. With the help of the application, three guarantees would be given
to the people hiring that the laborers are qualified, skilled, and trustworthy. The reliability would
prove the quality of the services given by the labours to the people, and there is a value for
money provided to them where the customers would feel worth paying for the labours for their
work. There is also an option where they can share their views by rating the labours in the
application so that accordingly action can be taken. There is an option for full-fledged detail
checking of the application where the customers are aware of the backgrounds and qualifications
of the labourers hired through the app. There are different categories added in the application
through which the customers can select the category they prefer the most. The application is a
private application made by a recruiter service provider, and there is a co-partnership with some
big businesses in the UAE. The app's unique feature is that there are many types of labour
available depending on the needs of the customer. This means that the labourers are not specified
or limited to a particular industry. 

4. Defend the Argument of How Your Solution Solves the Problem

As mentioned above, COVID has affected the labor market very badly, and the reliability of the
labor in business has also decreased. There are many companies that have thrown out employees
because of the availability of resources at the production level. So, with the solution proposed, it
can be said that there are many laborers who look for jobs in the local areas of the market and
residents, but they cannot be hired easily as there is a high risk of being a fraud or someone
involved in illegal work. As a customer, it is very risky to trust such people as their identity is
not verified and their background is also not checked. The application is highly efficient as the
customers can select the laborers according to their requirements and skills. The solution
provided is much more reliable, easy to use and choose the right people, and the work done is
also smooth as they are hired accordingly. Customers, unlike other options, can provide feedback
through the app where they can mention their views on the service they received and its
outcomes.
5. Assess the Solution Feasibility

Since the pandemic started, there has been a huge jump in the digital world, and many businesses
are operating online along with their offline versions in recent times. So, the idea of starting an
application on this can be very beneficial. There is a huge demand for labor, and there are many
different jobs in the market that require the right amount of labor for smooth business operations.
Even the residents of the UAE are looking for laborers for different jobs like daily household
work, in small factories, or for construction purposes. The application is customer-friendly and
easy-to-use, and it does not take much time to select the labour, and the timings can be specified.
Accordingly, the nearest laborers can be sent to the location. There is less time needed to
complete the process, and the resources are also finite because there is an easy motive behind
starting the app. The estimated cost for the application is also not very high as it does not require
many resources and knowledge. The application can be called sustainable because it helps bring
many laborers who have a variety of skills to one place. It is beneficial for people to use just one
place to get the labour required as per the job profile.

6. Discuss the Solution Value Proposition

As per the description of the application, the main value of the application is that it helps in
getting the right labour for a specific job. The right kind of labor makes the process of work
easier and better. Also, it is observed that the main value of the application is that it can attract a
huge audience for its business and provide high-quality services if the profit-making part is
focused. The demand for laborers has increased in recent times, and there are many different
services required by the customers in the market. Also, the app helps in giving job opportunities
to many laborers who are seeking a job and are skilled in their relevant field. The work and
development of UAE residents have become much easier, and the economy is also improving
with time.
