1. According to the song, what does Upuan symbolize?
2. Does the song reflect the current situation of our society? Cite lines as your
proof.

TASK 2. CINEMA ONE

Watch the film “On the Job” by Erik Matti. Before the movie rolls, listen to your
teacher as he reads the short introduction from the text box so you will gain little
background about the film.

thriller film directed by Erik Matti. The
film stars Piolo Pascual as Attorney
Francis Coronel, Jr. , Gerald Anderson as
DanielofBenitez,
the film.Joel Torre as Mario
"Tatang" Maghari and Joey Marquez as
Sergeant Joaquin Acosta
. The film was one of twenty one
selected feature films screened in the
Directors' Fortnight at the 2013
Cannes Film Festiva l in Cannes,
France from May 16 until 26, 2013.
Though it did not win the Caméra d'Or
prize, the film was well received by the
viewers and was given a two- minute
standing ovation.

Aside from the Cannes Film Festival, the

film was also screened at the 17th
Puchon Internation
Fantasti al

Festival in Bucheon, South Korea. At
the said film festival, Joel Torre received
the Best Actor award, and
the film receiving the Jury Prize.

show your answers to the following questions. Then, select 2 representatives from your
group to present your output.
Group 1 A) Using a Venn Diagram, compare and contrast the characters “Tatang”
(Joel Torre) and “Daniel” (Gerald Anderson).
Group 2 A) What did you like about Francis’s (Piolo Pascual) character? Give one
and elaborate.
B) Think of a reason why he was murdered by the hitman?
Group 3 A) Why did Tatang kill Daniel on the latter part? Justify your answer.
B) If you were Tatang, would you do the same thing? Why?
Group 4 A) Name some of the personalities who were killed by Tatang and Daniel?

week to invite your friends to view it. 10% of their grade will be from the number of
