BSED 1-5

Upon critically reading the module “Ethics Unit 1”, I have firmly learned numerous ideas, and these are
as follows: (1) the difference of the moral and non-moral standards (2) the clear boundary of the concept
of ethics and morality (3) the main foundation of ethics. Firstly, I learned that the main difference
between the moral and non-moral standards can be seen clearly as moral standards are those ethical
principles that the people live by and believe, while, the non-moral standards are those unwanted
principles that are in opposition to everything that we expected to and do. With this learning, I had
realized that I am undoubtedly following such moral standards for almost the entirety of my life in which
I intend to continue to embody for I believe that it is right. Secondly, I also learned from the previous
reading about the clear boundary of the concept of ethics and morality as morality are principles on which
one’s judgment of right or wrong is based. These are principles that are highly influenced by society, a
particular culture, or religion. On the other hand, based on my cognitive understanding, ethics are those
guiding principles of conduct of an individual or a group that is more uniform compared to morality.
These are principles that are highly influenced by the field of profession and by an organization. With this
learning about the difference between morality and ethics, I had realized that the usage of ethics and
morality as the basis of my actions and decisions in life must be based on where the moral conflict existed
in order to determine the possible principles that need to consider. Lastly, I learned from the given
module that freedom is entirely significant as it is the main foundation of ethics, an idea which I support
from my thorough reflection. For I sincerely believe that the right of any individual to make rightful or
wrongful decisions and actions are solely granted by his/her freedom.

Upon reading the module, I have learned ideas and information in regards of the following: (1) The
concepts about of ethics and moral, (2) The difference between moral and non-moral standard. First, the
concepts in regards of ethics and moral, these two is a different thing. As what is stated in the chart that is
shown in the module, the comparison between ethics and morals. I can say that ethics are more firm than
morals, because morals refers more on to the tradition or culture of an individual while ethics is base in
the profession of an individual. Which means that when it comes in your workplace you can’t enforce
your morality over the ethics of the company. Second, the difference between moral and non-moral
standards it has been clearly stated here, moral standards are the those ethical principles that the people
live by and believe while, the non-moral standards are those unwanted principles that are in opposition to
everything that we expected to be and do. I realized that what I am applying in my daily life is the moral
standard because it is what is right and I will continue to follow this moral standard that I am doing right
know. But in my perspective, morality is much more important than ethics, believe that when my morality
is right my ethics will follow.
