FIRST CLASSROOM
OBSERVATION
Content Standards: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of
axiomatic structure of geometry and triangle congruence.

Performance Standards: The learner is able to communicate mathematical thinking

with coherence and clarity in formulating, investigating, analyzing, and solving real-life
problems involving congruent triangles using appropriate and accurate representations.

MELC: The learner proves two triangles are congruent. (M8GE-IIIg-1)

I. OBJECTIVES
a. Recall the conditions to show congruence of triangles.
b. Identify postulates and theorems needed to prove that two triangles are congruent.
c. Prove that the two triangles are congruent by SAS and SSS, ASA congruence
postulates.

II. CONTENT:
Topic: Proving Triangle Congruence
Materials: TV, activity sheet, laptop
References:
Teacher’s Guide pages 386- 392

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activity
1. Prayer
2. Checking of Attendance
3. Review (Triangle Congruence Postulate): State the postulate or theorem based
on the markings.

IV. LESSON DEVELOPMENT

A. ACTIVITY
Students will be grouped into three. Definition of different kinds of words will be
flashed together with its jambled letters. Students will be asked to form the words
using the letter card given to them as fast as they can.
B. ANALYSIS
1. What do you think is the relation of the words in your activity?
2. What is the definition of congruence?
3. Can you give me word/s that is related to reflexive and vertical?
4. What do you think is our lesson for today?

C. ABSTRACTION (Discussion through powerpoint presentation)

D. APPLICATION : GROUP ACTIVITY
The students will be divided into four groups and will perform the following task.
Group 1: Translate the given into mathematical statement.
Group 2: Mark the given on the figures
Group 3: Figure 1: Proving
Group 4: Figure 2: Proving

E. ASSESSMENT

Complete the table by supplying the missing statements and proofs.
