I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of axiomatic structure
of geometry and triangle congruence.
B. Performance Standards The learner is able to:
1. Formulate an organized plan to handle a reallife situation.
2. Communicate mathematical thinking with coherence and clarity in
formulating, investigating, analyzing, and solving real-life problems
involving congruent triangles using appropriate and accurate
representations.
C. Learning Competencies Illustrates the SAS, ASA and SSS congruence postulates. (M8GE-IIId-e-1)
D. Objectives At the end of the lesson the learners are expected to:
a. Name corresponding parts of congruent triangles.
b. Illustrate the ASA congruence postulate.
c. Identify the included side.
II. CONTENT
Content ASA (Angle-Side-Angle) Congruence
III. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing Previous Lesson Review regarding the concept and how to identify an Included side of a
or Presenting the New Lesson triangle:
B. Establishing a Purpose for Now that we already reviewed the concept of an included side, let’s try to use
the Lesson that concept for the ASA congruence postulate.
ASA Congruence Postulate – If two angles and the included side of one triangle
are congruent to two angles and an included side of another triangle, then the
two triangles are congruent.
F. Developing Mastery Board work: Determine whether the given triangles are congruent using the
ASA congruence postulate
Answer:
G. Finding Practical Applications If you reflected a triangular figure on the mirror, can you use the ASA
of Concept and Skills in Daily congruence postulate to determine whether the actual object and the
Living reflection is congruent?
H. Making Generalizations a. What have you learned from the topic that has been discussed?
about the Lesson b. What is the ASA congruence postulate?
