 List problems that students have with the lack of security around Universidad
Tecnologica de El Salvador.

 Propose solutions about the lack of security outside Universidad Tecnologica de

El Salvador.
 Hypotheses

Insecurity is a structural problem that has been present in the history of the country, which
not only affects men but also women in greater magnitude, and is currently evident within
the University Campus, knowing through conversations with students who have been
victims and continue to be vulnerable to insecurity, as they are mostly: theft, robbery,
assaults, among others.

The student population attributes meaning to what they live in their daily lives, when asked
about the issue of insecurity they respond based on what they are perceiving from their
reality; Therefore, based on the same significance, they express that some of the factors
that affect this issue are “there is little security inside and outside the university”.

Now, with the problem of current insecurity, the student population expresses the
meaning attributed by its meaning of reality to the role that the Institutional Security Unit
is playing is regular in terms of measurement and people try to do their work maybe not
everyone is the same but if some try to do their job.

Lack security is a reality that affects the entire community university, product of the
increase in the rate of crimes and crimes, and / or discomfort, distrust and violence
generated by fragmentation in our Salvadoran society.

It should be noted that the key informants show total outrage at these facts, since they
believe that the university authorities do not take appropriate measures and do not ensure
the safety of the university community, because in the vicinity of the Universidad
Tecnologica de El Salvador it is observed in the afternoon-night little influx of students,
inadequate electric lighting, little presence of security personnel, reasons for which fear
involves the student population within the University Campus, also distrust of their
classmates students due to the different experiences.

Another reason that affects the security in the university is that they do not keep a record
of the people who enter the university, do not know if they are students of the university
or show an identification that accredits them as university students.
It can be mentioned that through the interaction of the researchers with the study subjects,
the experiences of the student population victims of events such as theft, robbery, armed
robbery, either by external or internal people of the University are identified; also
identifying some of the measures carried out by the student population are: staying in
groups, that is, always walking accompanied, avoiding traveling in areas alone at night,
in addition, not walking valuables such as mobile phones or computers, among others.

A possible solution to avoid these cases would be for the university to take more into
account the well-being of the students inside and outside the university, for example when
wanting to enter the university show the card that accredits him as a university student,
also provide more cameras of security outside the university to provide more security for
students.
