- train navigators in the practical use of the Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT, and satisfy the
requirement for ECDIS familiarisation.
This 2 – day Distance Course is delivered by Safebridge GmbH hosted through Seagull Training
System and approved by Sperry as product specific training for Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT.
A Safebridge/Sperry certificate will be issued upon successfully completion of this course.
The Safebridge Sperry solutions contain in depth theoretic material delivered through a number of e-
learning modules, combined by a number of practical exercises where the actual onboard Sperry
ECDIS system must be used. A final onboard assessment will verify the required competence.
1.2 Pre requisites
Course participant must be onboard a ship equipped with a Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT ECDIS.
1.3 Activities to be done
- Complete the Seagull Maritime e-learning module# 4076.01, 4076.02, 4076.03, 4076.04,
4076.05, 4076.06, 4076.07, 4076.08, 4076.09, 4076.10 with at least 85% completion
- Complete the Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT Exercise Book*
- Complete the final assessment e-learning module # 4076.11, achieving at least 70% score.
*The primary goal of the Exercise Book is to provide you with a supplement of practical exercises to
complete the Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT ECDIS training.
Please note that it is important for you to complete all exercises provided in this exercise book as
this will form the basis of the final assessment which you must complete in module # 4076.11.
Each individual seeking course diploma must complete e-learning tests individually.
NOTE!!!!
E-learning test results must not be older than 12 months.
Incomplete documentation/not passing evaluation will be shredded and a complete new set must be
sent.

1.6 Questions
Questions regarding the training can be sent by email to obtraining@sgull.com
The subject in the e-mail must be, “Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT training”
Upon receipt of all fully completed documentation as outlined in the Checklist 1.8, Seagull (SG) will
assess the application. If approved, Seagull will notify Safebridge GmbH who will issue the actual
course certificate and send a digital certificate to the company.
All submitted pages must be signed and verified by Master or Assessor onboard or office Assessor
and marked with the ship’s/office’s stamp.

The subject in the email must be “Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT training – candidate name”
Please note:
All further correspondence regarding this application will include all recipients of the original mail
sent to Seagull Maritime.

The following documents, duly completed, must be submitted to Seagull for evaluation and approval
before Seagull can issue the course diploma.
All submitted pages signed and verified by Master or Assessor onboard or office Assessor
and marked with ship’s/office stamp.

To ensure all Seagull Maritime courses are done according to our procedures, all documents and
checklists must be signed and stamped. This must be done by Master or a qualified onboard
Assessor or an office Assessor.
If Seagull finds that an application is partially or entirely a duplicate of another application, the
application will be rejected and course diploma will not be issued.
The candidate and company will be notified.
The Master/Assessor must take all necessary precautions to ensure that all these requirements are
met.
The Master/Assessor is jointly responsible that the applications are according to our procedures and
guidelines. In STCW regulation I/6 and section A-I/6 is stated that all training and seafarers are
required to be administered, supervised and monitored. The Master/Assessor is part of fulfilling this
requirement.
By signing this document I can confirm that the following items have been done and verified:
That the participant’s personal details on the candidate detail page are correct, readable and
checked against passport of candidate.
The information from the candidate detail page will be used on the course diploma.
That the e-learning module is at least 85% completed and achieved an assessment
score of at least 70%.

2.1 Background
This Distance Course is delivered by Safebridge GmbH hosted through Seagull Training System. It
is approved by Sperry and will fulfil the requirement of Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT equipment
specific training.
The objective of this distance course is to give the Trainee equipment specific training for the Sperry
Marine VisionMaster FT.
Be familiar with the user interface
Identify all basic display features
Be able to perform chart work on the VisionMaster FT
Knowledge of sensor handling and management
Know how to create, modify and check sailing routes
Be able to monitor a route
Be able to order, install and update charts on the VisionMaster FT
Know how to perform data management and backup arrangements
Be aware of navigational tools and related information
