• A match is the best of three games. The winner
of each game is the first player(s) to reach 21, by
two clear points. At 20-all, the side which scores
two consecutive points shall win that game. At
29-all, the side scoring the 30th point shall win
that game. A point is scored by winning a rally.
Points are scored regardless of who is serving
and the side who wins the point serves the next
point. The side winning a game serves first in the
next game. Simple badminton rules include a
scoring system where you play until you score 21
points.

7. Singles
• To begin, you will serve from the right side of
the court. After initial serve, position depends on
the server's score. If score is even - serve from
the right and if it is odd - serve from the left. If
the server wins the rally he will continue to serve,
but if the receiver wins, the next serve goes to
the receiver.

the opponent side. When the ball is hit by a
team, the members of other team hit it with their
hands to prevent it from touching the ground and
to send it to another teammate or to the other
side of the court across the net. Only three
players from the team can strike the ball
successively before they send it to the other
team.

2. Ball
• Indoor Volleyball - typically white but may have
some other colors as well. It's round with 8 or 16
panels and is usually made of leather.
• Official Indoor Volleyball - 25.5 -26.5 inches in
circumference, weighs 9.2 - 9.9 ounces, and
has 4.3-4.6 psi air pressure.
• Youth volleyball - is slightly smaller.
