11 STEMC-2 REACTION PAPER Ma’am, Bario

I have many reactions to the first video (KMJS: Mahirap pa sa Daga). First of all, I feel sorry for
the condition of the siblings, not because of their looks but because of the discrimination they
experience, just because of their physical condition. I noticed in the video that we can almost
see the condition on the mother's face, but in all of that, she seems to have a child with a normal
facial structure or not inheriting their condition. I realized in this video how judgmental other
people are, just because they notice that person is different from them. It's just sad to think that
at a young age, the siblings experience so much discrimination and teasing. It's also sad to think
that other children are not taught good understanding about their condition.

I had a lot of reactions to the second video we watched. Jeffrey's pitiful condition is one of them,
it's surprising why he only experienced the disease when he was old, and it's also surprising
why almost only in the island of Panay are there many people who have this condition and
almost all of them are men. But despite Jeffrey's pitiful condition, having Ceny, his best friend, is
a big help. It is good to have someone who will support and take care of you in this situation and
will accompany you to recover. It's also amazing that despite the fact that there are many men
who have it, John is there to give joy and is an inspiration to people who have the same disease
as him and of course to others who have different conditions. With the help and support of
John's family, he is slowly recovering. Because of this, he is able to work, have fun, and take
care of his daughter. With the help of his being an influencer, he was able to inspire other
people to continue in life.
