Which One Matters More? you find in the learning environment or/and in the

syllabus of the course.

In Indonesia it is suggested that the language taught in the classroom should reflect

how native speakers use it. Consequently, authentic materials become popular, authentic

materials as materials that expose real life and how it is used in the target language,

authentic materials as materials created and used for social purposes of native speakers.

Authentic materials are considered beneficial tools for teaching English in EFL countries,

as they reflect the naturalness of the language, activate students' motivation, contain

cultural content, and improve communicative competence.
