1) If you were one of the villagers, which child would you take home? John, Kate or Maggie? Why?

2) Mrs Thompson was initially angry with her husband for bringing Maggie home. As the story
progresses, describe if there are any changes to Mrs Thompson’s feelings for Maggie. Provide
evidence from the story.
Firstly, Mrs Thompson’s husband, Mr, Joe Thompson has bringing Maggie home because
he was feeling sympathy. She also can’t walk by herself. This can be prove when Mr Joe
said “She can’t walk onto the poorhouse, somebody arms must carry her”. Mr. Jo told his
wife that they will take care of Maggie only just for a while until he found a orphange. One
day, Mr Joe went home lately because he want his wife to make a conversation with Maggie.
The other day, her husband want to find home for Maggie. His wife stop him and say she
was feeling sympathy to Maggie because of her wickness and helpless. This can be prove
went Mrs Thompson said “We’ll keep her a day or two longer; she is so weak and helpless”.

3) Who do you think was the real “Angel in Disguise” and why? Provide evidence from the story.
I think the real “Angel in Disguise” is Mrs. Thompson. It is because she finally can accept to
take care of Maggie and feeling symphaty to Maggie. This can be prove when she said
“We’ll keep her a day or two longer; she is so weak and helpless”. Mr Joe also said Maggie
will be so much in his wife way. Secondly, I also believe that Maggie was the real “Angel in
Disguise”. It is because even she can’t walk by herself, she can bring a happiness to a
family who is never have a child. Mrs Thompson, who is not accepting her for the first time
can chances her mind and feeling pity to this child who is Maggie. This can be prove in the
story on the last line which is “An angel had come into his house, disguise as a sick,
helpless, and miserable child, and filled all its dreary chambers with the sunshine of love”.
