that in most cases result in harm. Some examples of violence
include Fighting and Verbal abuse.
From the data gathered, it is observed that 15 girls and 10
boys answered the given questionnaires. The age range is 12-
15, and 16-18.
The research revealed that in figure 1 , most of the
respondents (40%)stated that violence modelled by society
was the number 1 cause of violence in schools while (32%)
stated that academic tension was a cause and 28% had other
opinions. This shows how great of an impact society has on
students. Figure 2. Illustrates that, most of the respondents
(12) believe or agree that lashes is the number 1 method of
punishment in the Princess Margaret School, 10 respondents
said that students were being suspended and another 3 said
students received demerits. This is pointing out that majority
of the students who practice violence in the Princess

13% respondents said that the use of security systems should
be implemented in order to reduce the violence in the
Princess Margaret School, 7% chose monitor school hallways
and 4% respondents stated that clear rules should be set.

punished by lashes in the Princess Margaret School than
any other method of punishment.
3. Majority of respondents felt introducing security
systems in schools seems to be the best way to prevent
Violence. More than half of the respondents agreed
with this.

Implementation Strategy:
The government should assign one or more counselors to all
secondary schools with the sole purpose of dealing with
violent students.
