CHILD LABOUR IN PHILIPPINES

kid labor is any employment that robs a kid of their childhood, their potential, their dignity, and is detrimental to their
physical and mental growth. According to the 2011 Survey on Children of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), there
are 2.1 million child laborers in the Philippines between the ages of 5 and 17. 95 percent of them work in dangerous jobs.
69 percent of these are between the ages of 15 and 17, which is the minimum legal age for employment but is nevertheless
exposed to dangerous jobs.

Children are employed as domestic labor in industries, farms, perilous mines, on the streets, and in private residences. At
58%, agriculture continues to be the industry with the highest percentage of child laborers.
