QUIZ BEE MECHANICS

1. The coverage of the quiz bee is General Information.

2. It is open to all students of NEHS- Senior High School and each group is composed of two (2)
representatives.
3. The contest will be divided into three rounds: Easy, Average, and Difficult.
4. Modes of answer per round are as follows:
a. EASY – multiple choice (A/B/C/D) and will be given five (5) seconds before raising the
answer
b. AVERAGE – multiple choice (A/B/C/D) and will be given (10) seconds before raising the
answer
c. DIFFICULT – identification and will be given thirty (30) seconds before raising the answer
5. The number of questions and pointing system per round are as follows:
a. EASY – ten (10) questions, one (1) point each, a total of ten (10) points
b. AVERAGE – ten (10) questions, two (2) points each, a total of twenty (20) points
c. DIFFICULT – five (5) questions, five (5) points each, a total of twenty-five (25) points
6. Letters and papers for answering will be provided.
7. Only the first twenty (20) groups from any strand (mixed strands are allowed) will be allowed to
join.
8. The questions will be read by the quizmaster twice.
9. Each group may prepare or write the answer even if the questions are not yet fully read by the
quizmaster, provided that the answers will be raised only when the time’s up.
10. When the time’s up, no one’s allowed to change or modify their answers.
11. The quizmaster shall read and verify the groups’ answers.
12. The group that gets the highest number of points is automatically declared the champion or the
runner-up as the case may be.
13. In case of a tie, a sudden-death clincher round will be provided in varying difficulties, which means
the first group to get the correct answer will be the winner or the runner-up as the case may be.
14. All forms of cheating if proven will disqualify the group and will no longer be allowed to join the
rest of the activity.
