INSTRUCTIONS:
• The questions are made to make a real circuit scenario, so simulating in Multisim will is not necessary
to answer the questions.

1. Given the signals VIN1, VIN2 and VIN3 and Vout, determine if the output is

correct. If it is not correct, draw the correct signal and determine the fault in the

circuit.

The signal that is given in the circuit is incorrect because based on the formula 𝑣𝑜 =
𝑅𝐹
− 𝑅𝐼 (𝑣𝑖𝑛1, 𝑣𝑖𝑛2, 𝑣𝑖𝑛3) the Rf/ Ri will canceled since all resistors are given in 10kΩ so we

would only have a formula 𝑣𝑜 = −(𝑣𝑖𝑛1, 𝑣𝑖𝑛2, 𝑣𝑖𝑛3) hence, by applying this formula the

first case will only match the correct given output which is the -1V of the output signal

and the rest is incorrect since the calculations did not match the required output voltage

of +3V, -2V, -1V and -4.5V, however when we try analyzing the given signal by applying

a ground in Vin2 then recalculating the given voltage input in Vin1 and Vin3 we would

get the same exact required voltage output. Therefore, by observing the entire process

done by applying a ground to the Vin2 we can have a correct summing amplifier circuit.
